Not getting NEW restoration, not part of the 13.

Question is, how was the old transfer? Was it scanned at 4k (doubtful)? If it was a good transfer then it should look good, but we never know until we've seen the blu-ray. If we look at Jurassic Park it just could've been better.

I believe the fast and the furious is the only one that is being released as part of the universal 100. The fast and the furious is the only one listed on the universal 100 website. From that list it seems as if they are releasing or re-releasing a total of 100 movies some on dvd only, some as blu-ray combos(with digital copies and dvds, and some as blu-ray and dvd combo no digital copies(i.e The deer hunter and a Beautiful mind).

alright I have two coupons to use this month so was wondering if American Graffiti and Fast Times at Ridgemont High are good blind buys. I'm familiar with the soundtracks of both movies and love them both.

I'm also debating on Do the Right Thing. I've seen this once before many years ago but and I remember kind of liking it but I vaguely remember it.

American Graffiti is slightly better than Fast Times IMHO, but both are still well made. Both of these transfers have a moderate amount of DNR though. If you want a slightly better transfer you could always go with the HD DVD version of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Since it's DD+ @ 1.5 Mbps I doubt you'll be able to hear much of a difference when compared to the DTS-HD MA 5.1 found on the BD.

No it is not part of the universal 100.I know because I bought it on release day from amazon.It has a slipcover but they just released 3d version again without the digital copy.It has the same lenticular slipcover as before.
