Just got up from a long nap. Maybe I should be sleeping right after I get home from work instead of trying to sleep before I go to work. That seems to work better even though I'm not a fan of that sleep cycle.

So now that I have napped and now I'm feeling a bit hungry, I think I'll walk down to Carl's Jr and use a coupon that I clipped.

I used an app coupon to get 2 Subway footlongs for $6.99 each, which works a lot better for me than menu price. Makes me glad I kept looking for an inexpensive food option, especially since the coupon ends today.

Just got back from Carl's Jr. I got their Big Carl Double for about $3.50 off and then the lady let me use another coupon in a separate transaction for a $1.49 medium fry. About $10 total with the drink I ordered so not a bad deal.
I passed a Panda Express on the way there and while I was feeling like a burger, I think I would have opted for Panda if I could have spent the same $10 and some change there. Panda would have been a bit more. It's craaaaaazy how much I think about budgeting and not spending too much on food. I mean trying to control spending isn't a bad thing but when I'm fretting over an extra $1 or $2

Also, I saw a lot of people wearing yellow jerseys and they were all heading to the same place. I'm thinking it might be a watch party for the Copa America final. With all of the Latina women I saw, I should be over there too

Five and a half hours until I start work. We'll say 4.5 hours until I leave for work. Watch a movie, sleep some more, surf some more? Hmmmm

7:33am and I just got home from work about 20 minutes ago. I was thinking about getting some Denny's AYCE pancakes and then going for a bike ride after breakfast. I would wrap it up at Costco with a soda and a strawberry sundae. I'm in the shower and I'm still thinking about it when it occurs to me that I'm in the freaking shower getting clean and I'm not about to go for a bike ride and get sweaty again and have to take a second shower

So now I'm thinking that after I play some WWE2K19, I'll catch the bus up to Denny's and maybe see if I can do a couple test drives first. The dealers and Denny's would be at the same stop. So maybe test drives, Denny's and then Costco and Barnes & Noble. That sounds like an alright day off to me even though technically, my day off begins at 10pm tonight.

Even a scooter. There is just something.... Some kind of spiritual cleansing... When you ride. I've heard motorcyclists call it "motorcycle therapy". It's deep. And I recommend those who aren't cantankerous and have either a sporting sense of balance or can rock a car in the ice and snow with confidence, to go out, buy a cheap scooter or motorcycle, and see what it's all about. Someone once asked me why I skydive and I gave them the most incredulous look and said that since we humans have been here on earth, every experience of skydiving ended in death. Only in the hundred years have we overcome it. Why wouldn't everyone want to experience it? Motorcycles contain the same argument. I just want to encourage anyone who had the physical/mental aptitude to go and try it. This world would be a better place if people did. /end_rant
And so does your spleen, your brain, or your eyeballs when said motorcycles connects the dots between you and the pavement. Or you and a car. Nah. I'd sooner rather ride a rollercoaster and I hate those things. You people are nuts, I tell you. NUTS. N-U-T-S!!!

I too know how to read and I sometimes even do. I have thought several times over the years that I wish I had read more. I probably went several years without reading anything but while I was recovering from my car accident in Ireland, my mom came to visit me in the hospital and she bought me three books. I was in the hospital for 11 days and I'm pretty sure that I finished two of the books.

Once I was discharged from the hospital, I checked into a B&B where I spent another 47 days recovering. During this time, I finished the third book and bought another one. I loved walking through the city centre and finding a cafe or deli to pop into. I'd kick back with my book and a pastry/dessert and a Diet Coke or hot chocolate and do some reading while I watched the people walk along High Street. Or other times, you might find me near Kilkenny Castle turning some pages while people enjoyed the castle's vast park.

Now, I find myself at Denny's where I'll read another chapter in The Temporary European. It's a book filled with "lessons and confessions of a professional traveler" written by a guidebook author who works with Rick Steves. The chapter I'm about to read is about overcoming the stereotype that we have of French people in which we think they're all rude and they all hate us.

Read 120 pages on Saturday and 180 pages on Sunday, hoping to get through most of what remains of the last 170ish pages of The Summons today.

I am getting ready to go on another road trip to the hospital, this time to see my pain management doctor. There's plenty of pain for him to manage.

Took a longer nap than I had intended to and I think I could have easily fallen back asleep but Mikey must eat something. Of course Mikey doesn't cook so Mikey will be venturing out. I'll be using the bus so I can go to Wendy's and then cross the street to go to Walmart for a few things or I can go to Burger King which is where I'm leaning right now, but then I'd have to make a second stop for that same Walmart on the way home. I've got something to think about! Oh yeah, and I might pick up something from RedBox. Been a minute since I've rented anything.

Damn, I could do IHOP Hoppy Hour at 3pm but I like to bring my computer or a book with me and I have neither. I’m standing at the bus stop with that thought in my brain, my very large brain

Redbox is shutting down entirely; their parent company filed for bankruptcy:
