SF....you are single right? I only ask because I am curious how often you actually "make" dinner instead of using frozen food or something semi-prepared. I find it tough to actually bake a meatloaf and make mashed potatoes for just myself very often....I like leftovers, but the act of baking or cooking an actual meal for just me is rather a PIA if I am being honest.

I am trying to overcome persistent nausea and make myself eat something, but that's hard to do when everything I look at makes me want to

Watching a YouTube video and browsing AllTrails for a hike nearby since its unnaturally warm today. I'm scouting out a waterfall trail I'm pretty sure I've done before, possibly way back when I first moved here. Afterward I'll probably stop by Goodwill to donate more crap I don't need and pick up some dinner so I don't have to cook tonight.

[Show spoiler]Yes

It was semi-prepared.

It really depends on how much time I have but I do try to cook a lot. Breakfast being the easiest, of course. Except for the cost of eggs.

No kidding.....with me trying to gain weight and eat protein, eggs are one of the easiest ways to do it.....but having to buy 2 dozen jumbo eggs every week at these prices sure does add up.

Crockpot cooking is they key. Back when I was really into it and packing on mass, I would make 2 full batches of shredded chicken a week. I would only season it with basics, light salt and garlic base, that way I can flavor it up in different dishes and not eat the same thing every day. I still do that today, but since I don't train like I used to I only do it about once a week.

That, and lots of peanut butter & jelly (alternate the jelly flavor and also switch to honey) sandwhiches and milk. Burgers in an air fryer is a quick and easy meal, too. I do that 2-3 times a week. Air fryers are magic in a box.

Do you have a Sam's or Costco membership? They sell a "restaurant-sized" case of eggs. I believe it's 60 eggs but I am not sure of the price. Still likely much cheaper vs. buying at your local supermarket.

You are right....I need to use my air fryer more often. I haven't used the crock pot at all, but I should. I don't like jelly (I know) so its usually lots of PB on Greek flatbread (15 grams of protein for just one piece) for me...with a nice tall glass of milk.

I do, but I dread going there.....waaayyyy to many people.....makes me feel I am in the middle of an open air market in the middle east. I dread trying to get in and out of there. I'd rather pay a bit more somewhere else. And since it is just me, I simply don't have enough need for bulk items in fridge/freezer....and both are pretty packed already to be honest.

Pretty much this. I've been buying those 5 dozen bulk packs for years from Sam's. Although I've minimized my egg intake of late, prices being a factor, but still cheaper than the grocery store. Before prices went up recently, they were hovering around $9-$10, but my local grocery sold a 5 dozen bulk pack for closer to $20.

The thing with the crock pot is you just throw all that chicken in the fridge and it's a quick meal just to heat up in the nukerowave. That takes care of 2 meals a day for me until I prepare another batch.

This 12-in-1 cooker from Ninja also helps with the cooking. I use it mostly as an air fryer, but it's handy as an oven and overall complete meal cooker. It's fast and easy. I use it at least 3 times a day.

It can definitely be overwhelming at times, especially on weekends. Sometimes I take a deep breath before I walk in and utter “here we go” haha. Going in the evening roughly an hour before close = a lot less crowded BUT I doubt you’ll get any eggs.

Does your Sam's Club have drive-up order pick up? I've been using that for a while now. And they aren't allowed to take tips. I think I've only been inside the store once in the past year.

I'm not a fan of chicken in a crockpot--drys out too much IMO. Air frier is better, but takes more work. What I do now is air fry thighs, and bulk poach breasts (5-10lbs at a time). The cooked breasts I freeze until needed. Poaching makes them about as moist and juicy as you can make a lean meat like chicken breasts.

I use chicken broth for that reason. And speaking of chicken thighs, those definitely cook better in a crock pot as opposed to chicken breasts, but there are ways around that.

I nearly read "Breakfast being the easiest" as breastfeeding lmao

At Chili's where I'm having their 3 For Me. So far, I've had a couple Diet Cokes and two orders of the chips, no salsa. Will order the burger soon.

When I'm done, I may grab a strawberry sundae at Costco which is quite close. After that, I'll plan to hit Cycle Gear and if The Container Store is still having a 20% off for in-store pickup, I may place an order for more hangers.

Oh yeah, I had a dream last night or this morning that I married Selena Gomez lolol
