and watching auto detailing videos. i don't know why, but i get such a joy out of seeing a car get a good detail to make it look as good as it was the day it was bought (or maybe even better).

Figuring into the equation for me buying my first Toyota FJ Cruiser back in 2010 was the excellent resale value that unique vehicle held especially in the color I got (hunter green, it's the Jets mobile after all ). Once it was totaled after an accident with an idiot driver, I bought another one in the same color but got it fully loaded since it was the last model year (2014). Fast forward to last week when my buddy, who is looking for a new vehicle, informed me that he has consistently seen them going for $30K + even with like 100K miles on that. I was FLOORED.

fj cruiser's going for that much? it actually doesn't surprise me. they were made for a limited time and supposedly are pretty good vehicles. i know a couple people that have one and they love theirs. i'm not into imports, anymore, but something like an fj cruiser is a pretty cool vehicle.

Resale value might mean something to some people but generally when I buy a car, it's for the long haul.. not looking into reselling it. Of course, I'm not out there buying any junk either, so if I were to sell whatever car it shouldn't be a worry. Considering you "lose" 25% value the moment the car is driven off the lot as well, it is what it is.

Those FJ cruisers are nice. I'm not much of a fan of Toyota, but I am a fan of those cruisers - always enjoyed the looks of them, even today. They're just different than any other SUV out there.

And yeah, my car needs a detail as well.
