some animals are very nurturing. especially those who we, ourselves, are nurturing to.

the last time i was really sick, my cat came and slept on my bed right up against me. she never does that as she's usually in one of her 3 regular sleeping spots somewhere else in the house.

Finally got the kid to bed, think I'll watch something on Netflix while I finish another Sam Adams. Found out today I was fired at the shop I work part time at, which explains why I wasn't on the schedule, the a$$hole owner didn't even bother telling me til I stopped by today. Apparently two different customers complained about me, one saying I didn't put his oil pan drain plug back on and another said I over-tightened their lug nuts after a brake job. There's no way in hell I would've been so negligent to do either one of these things, I've got 20+ years of positive experience in the automotive industry for crying out loud. There are cameras all over the shop, I'm sure there be footage of both jobs to prove my innocence, but he refuses to check them. Ugh I hope this doesn't come to bite me if I need to get another job later on, in the meantime my weekend job keeps bills paid and my side gig of being a mobile mechanic pads our savings. I also enjoy being a stay-at-home Dad during the week

Just wrapped up my first chicken fried steak and a beer for dinner. Had a real shitty day at work. Had a 7’ tiller land down just above my knees when I was rolling it off the forklift at the end of the night. Kind of have the ass that the customer didn’t come in during the day

I'm supposed to be at work in a couple of hours but I haven't left home yet. I'm still 1600 kms away. The sickness that I have won't let go.
My supervisor was fine with giving me a couple more days off, which helps.
I'm hoping that I'll okay sometime today and that I'll be able to head out tomorrow morning to make Thursday's flight into camp.

i was just on ford's site pricing out a truck....my dream truck

i guess i need another job or 3.

$85,245 was the final price after i got through adding all the stuff i'd want. and that's not even the most expensive one they offer. hell, the level that's 2 above the one i picked STARTS at more than that...and only goes up as you add more and more options.

but man....if i had the means and opportunity to buy that truck; i'd probably have a goofy-ass grin on my face for a damn month.

I want a superduty truck, but the gas would kill me, literally. They have decked out special edition trucks over $100K.

I've been putting quite a bit of time and money into my 21 year old truck lately and just last night my wife asked me why I don't just buy a new one. I told her I would if I could find one with a stick shift, but they're pretty scarce around here.

Registered my new timepiece on Bulova's site earlier and just got back from picking up the Doctor Sleep 4K Steelbook from Best Buy. I've been tasked with finding Apocalypto on DVD or Blu Ray and I'm thinking it won't be too hard.
Oh yeah, I also got a new Logitech wireless mouse at a different Best Buy earlier today but I'm not using it right now. I'm using my old one which works fine except the right click only works once every hundred times you press it (slight exaggeration).

every so often, i'll play the song (you know the one) as i'm driving. then i'll look down and notice that i should back off the accelerator a bit.

but damn! doing something like that in a truck like this....
