looking at what car to buy...

getting a new car in April / May. i'm 24 and it'll be only my second car. still have the first car i ever bought - a 1996 Saturn. way to small (i've outgrown it literally and figuratively - as far as groceries and storage space) and way too low to the ground. damn shame since it only has 173,000 miles on it and runs like a champ. but it pretty much sucks in winter and the interior is collapsing in on itself and isn't worth repairing (i.e. sunroof doesn't open, sunroof leaks, driver side door randomly falls off if you shut it too hard / don't shut it hard enough, oil leaks, stereo shorts out...)

i want to put 5k down for the initial payment and i don't need anything flashy so if i do buy a brand new "brand new" car the most i'll look at is a car for 15k.
