Just finished baking my nephew's double chocolate, chocolate chip birthday cake. I have a horrible migraine coming on so I'm gonna let the kiddos play some Monster Jam on the PS4 and go take a little nap. Little guy is obsessed with big trucks so I think he'll get a kick out of that game.

After the movie, little guy has requested I make my homemade mac & cheese w/bacon for dinner, I'm thinking my daughter may have influenced that choice a bit as it's her favorite dish.

Just replaced my garden hose male connector. Old garden spray nozzle was broken, so I tried removing it. Damn thing was stuck!!
I ended up cutting off part of the hose and buying a new connector instead.

Worked some more on those three Madonna DVD collections split into separate music videos that I mentioned a few pages ago.

I was wrong about something. The Celebration PCM audio is better than at least the Immaculate Collection PCM audio. The Celebration mixes are much louder but have less noise/static than the Celebration mixes and pop more, as they've been properly remastered. Deeper bass on the Celebration mixes, but tasteful. Vogue sounds awesome. I guess I just felt a little intimidated about having to potentially sync all the superior audio tracks from Celebration with the superior video from Immaculate. Which I just did. Took about five hours. I'm just glad all three collections have the same framerate. I know that sometimes DVDs don't.

It's painstaking, watching the singers' lips frame by frame and trying to adjust by hundreds of milliseconds in MKVToolnix. They're all really close now. Several songs from the Immaculate Collection end too soon. The fades are cut off, I mean. So, with the way I synced them, the sound now continues a little after the video seekbar in MPC-HC has already ended. Some videos where the musical fadeout is cut off: Borderline, Open Your Heart, La Isla Bonita, Like a Prayer, Cherish.

I deleted the Immaculate Collection version of Express Yourself because it was 35 seconds shorter.

I also deleted Celebration version of Lucky Star. The audio, while somewhat better, is useless because that version is about a minute shorter, so can't be synced with the superior video from Immaculate.

A review that helped me notice some things and helped me go in the right direction.

Like I said, Celebration has horrible video compression, with bitrates between 2100 and 3400 kbps, whereas the Immaculate Collection and Video Collection 93:99 have less noise, fewer of these ugly compression boxes and better grain, with bitrates between 5500 and 7500 kbps. It's annoying that this botched DVD set will probably be the last Madonna music video collection, thanks to YouTube. I really also wish the nipples in Justify My Love weren't blocked with a black bar. They're uncensored on YouTube.

The 93:99 collection has both good audio and video, so I'm not sure if I'll do anything with those music videos. I only wish that the few widescreen videos were truly anamorphic widescreen instead of 4:3 with black bars at the top and bottom. But that's what you get for making a series of connected videos instead of separate files on the disc.

Was at least able to read 6 pages in 2 textbooks, which is more studying than I got done yesterday after I spent far more time than expected visiting with my sister and her kids.

The Mine that I work at has suspended operations because of positive and presumptive cases. Other than essential workers and mealtimes, people there are confined to their rooms. Crew change tomorrow is also suspended.
I feel bad the ones who were supposed to leave. After four weeks there, heading home is the one thing everyone wants the most.

Going to bed, didn't study as much as I should have but it did amount to 29 pages total read in 3 textbooks so that's something at least. Not exactly sure what I'm supposed to be reading this week for my 3 active classes, probably need to scour the class outlines some more just in case. Doubt all I have this week is a quiz, a discussion and a short paper. Maybe self-assigned reading aside from those is enough.

Made an appointment for next Friday after volunteering to see a practitioner at the hospital where I work. Hopefully they'll say I'm as healthy as I think I am for 41.
