This sounded like a big splash and not just a duck or a fish jumping (if there are even fish in there). There was a fisherman that I had seen on the ride in and I thought he might have a dog with him. Anyway, not sure what made the splash.

The next sound I hear is a loud rattle. I had spotted some dragonflies hovering over the water and I thought they were quite loud but then I realized this sound was quite loud and sounded quite close. I'm standing on the shoulder of the road where I stopped to take the picture. I look into the brush and I saw a snake slithering away. I can't be sure that it was a rattlesnake but it must have been. I only saw a few inches of its body but I would say the width was at least the size of a golf ball.

Luckily he didn't get froggy and try something because then I would have had to snatch his ass up and make a belt out of him

Going to bed! Read 16 pages of Lasher today, which is better than nothing, I guess. Looking forward to tomorrow's quesabirria tacos.

We get them in PA usually in the off season. I think it comes down to a migration issue. They like to hang out in parking lots for all the food.

Not much going on today. Probably watch a bit of the Olympics and then watch the Yankees lose to the Red Sox this evening.

Reading a bit of Lasher before I start cooking the quesabirria tacos at 9.

Just woke up from a long nap that I didn't mean to take. I was going to hit another Barnes & Noble and try my luck finding a couple Criterions that I couldn't find at my usual store. After that, I was going to plan on stopping by the motorcycle shop again just to see if anything new caught my eye. But now, I think I'll just head over to Carl's Jr. and use a coupon and then come back home and do absolutely nothing.

Playing a spot of Madden before I read a bit more Lasher and then eat more quesabirria tacos for dinner.

Surfing the net while listening to Frank Zappa. My dad took my mom to the hospital since she wasn't feeling well so I am waiting for him to call.

Thanks, my dad called and said she is feeling a lot better than when they left. They are doing a CAT scan now. She has a faulty heart valve that they have to check on quite a bit. She gets really weak a lot.

My mom was released, the doctor thinks it was a new medicine that was causing her problems. Now I am taking a break from dragging the boxes of Halloween decorations down from the attic. I plan on starting to put the indoor stuff on Aug 1.

Just finished watching The Batman (2022) as my 800th film (according to my Letterboxd). I wanted to watch something good for the occasion, and this movie did not disappoint!

It certainly disappointed me but not as much as it would've if I had expected it to be good. Going to read some more Lasher and then grind a bit more on SMT5-V before bed.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis made a lot of money with The Heist because they owned the music and partnered with ADA, an independent distributor under Warner Bros. Music, that got that album played on the radio.

I don't think ADA still does this because Warner Bros. Music likes to make money these days.

Read 106 pages of Lasher today, good jump after doing poorly the past couple of days. Gotta pick up the pace a bit, want it done by the end of July to get to 21 books on the year. Time for bed!

Training plan/recovery plan finale calls for a race today but I'm running a fake marathon in 2 weeks so today I'll just run 10 miles on the dreadmill before lunch.
