Ha, no it's definitely not that. It's just that I grew up in a town where the demographic is mostly all white people so when I got into the Marine Corp and traveled to some different areas, it opened my eyes to all of the other beautiful women out there. For the last 10 years or so, I've had this Indian phase with Middle Eastern right under. I think that may be finally coming to an end although I'm still very attracted to attractive Indian women.
My mom used to tell me that she wants grandchildren with Southern accent and, being into Latinas, I would joke and say, "yeah, como esta"

A fantastic show as usual, those guys are just great musicians and Duritz hasn't lost a note, he nails it every time.
Wow, I'm actually going to mention that to my mom haha We only spent the one night so we didn't see much but it was cool. We were taking some route down from Gatlinburg and we passed through this one town, not too far from Blue Ridge, that seemed to have a charming downtown area. It was a bit different from the other towns that we passed. I don't think that I got the name of it.

After leaving Blue Ridge and heading back home, we passed through another town that I thought seemed pretty cool. Seeing a few restaurants that I like, I thought I could get into a routine living there as much of my free time on the weekend revolves around eating out at restaurants

I'd be down to see Counting Crows someday. I'm not too familiar with their songs even though I do have the Films About Ghosts album. A Long December and Hanginaround are the two songs that I'm most familiar with.
I had to check the names but Mr. Jones and Big Yellow Taxi are the other two that I'm a bit familiar with.

What do you think of Everclear? Like Counting Crows, I don't know too much about them but I do have their So Far Gone album and I love Santa Monica and I Will Buy You A New Life.

And for John Mayer, I know I mentioned discovering Slow Dancing In A Burning Room awhile back. I'm also loving Bold As Love a lot. Great guitar work on that one.

Hmm, maybe the town was Ellijay or perhaps even Jasper? Blue Ridge is still fun but it has really outgrown it's quaint mountain town vibe and is starting to veer towards the posh side of things which just isn't my vibe. We loved it when it was super chill, but now there's always crowds there.

I'd see CC soon if you can, this last album was the first one in 8 years so who knows how much longer they're gonna be around. Sorry, but not remotely a fan of Everclear aside from their main, big hit. Yep, that one of Johnny's best albums (Continuum), I play it all the time.

Everclear fan, here! Picked up So Much for the Afterglow on vinyl a few months ago but it wasn’t cheap.

I Googled both of those towns for images but I can't tell from the pictures that I saw. I just remember coming through and then making a right turn and yeah, it definitely seemed like it had a cool vibe.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the The General Ledger restaurant in Blue Ridge but that's where we ate the night we got there.

What's the furthest West that you have been? I forget if you've ever mentioned coming out to California.

I know you weren't asking me, but the farthest west I have ever been is New Zealand. Such a beautiful country! I would love to go there again if I could.

What the hell am I still doing up? It's 1:45am and besides the 2.5 hours of sleep that I got this morning after work, I've been up since about 9:25pm Sunday night. And I'm not even that tired right now so I could stay up longer if I wanted to.

Not going to set an alarm and hope to wake up at a decent time. Actually, I will set an alarm for 8am. I might take the bike up to the beach and then possibly SF tomorrow but not sure yet. I'll definitely take a ride but not sure where the destination will be yet.

TUESDAY:

Ugh...what a morning.

Returned an Amazon item at Staples...almost died in a car crash...you know...the usual.

Fortunately I have good brakes....no accident for me. The person who cut me off suddenly didn't even seem to be phased that all of us were screeching our tires and honking our horns behind them.

Oy vey...

Ok...bring on Wednesday, please.

I have no plans on ever wearing anything disgusting like that out in public. The crocs or the penises. Crocs belong in the dumpster fires and penises belong, well you know...

I guess there wasn't much afterglow after you bought it.

Made it to Pacifica and now enjoying a beverage at the Taco Bell Cantina on the beach. That beverage is a Diet Pepsi of course! I won’t be here too long. Just long enough to relax a bit and then figure out my route into SF and what my first stop will be. I’d like to get to Nike Town as it’s been decades since I’ve been there. I guess they don’t call them Niketowns anymore but I still do. We’ll see if I make it there.

Drinking coffee and browsing the web...

I'm hoping that since both being all-terrain with a similar tread pattern, there won't be too big of a difference in ride feel but these new ones are a bit more aggressive. Honestly I probably should just rip the bandaid off now since I'll probably end up doing it anyway before winter but I got a bit of sticker shock when I placed the initial order (they're about $350/tire )
I just ordered a matching tire and wheel myself over the weekend for use as a spare. Have a trip coming up and it was about time to get one vs driving around with a patch kit. I have Nitto Grappler's, similar price at $370 ea. I thought it'd be more for a single tire, and if I recall they were actually $20 more each tire when I got the full set back in 2021 during covid. The tire arrived at the tire shop yesterday, hopefully the wheel is in today so they can mount/balance for pick up tomorrow.

I wish AAA provided over-sized tires (I'm running 35s) otherwise I probably wouldn't bother.

Yep, we've eaten at that restaurant, it's off the main drag, just over the train tracks. I've ridden that train before too, it's a blast. I also drunk stole a pumpkin from the sidewalk there a few years ago. And yes, I'm very mature.

Yep, been out to San Francisco/Napa/Marin County as well as San Diego and then Portland and Seattle. Absolutely loved all of those trips.

Having San Diego within driving distance helps keep us grounded in California as we've otherwise considered moving out of state. So much to do there and gorgeous scenery. It's our favorite local weekend getaway spot. Speaking of which, the wife and I are about overdue for a trip.

I’m at the Presidio in SF where I just had my second experience with all gender bathrooms that are open to everyone at the same time. You’ve been to an all gender restroom where you lock the door behind you so it’s one at a time. Have you been to a restroom where you could be in a stall next to a woman? lol
And I realize people could get political or could wonder if that’s what I’m trying to do but no. It’s just that like I said, it’s only my second experience and it confused me for a moment lol

Bring back .25 wings!

I decided to make my own “Boss” sammich (a Wabo recommendation), from Subway ‘cause last time they forgot the pepperoni!

It turned out pretty good and even better considering I sourced those balls fresh from my deli + they’re bigger!

Garlic bread
Meatballs
Roasted garlic parm Prego sauce
Pepperoni
Provolone cheese - 2 slices on the bottom smothered by the pepp
Trader Joe’s Hot & sweet jalepenos

Hex yeah! You had me at bigger and fresher balls.

Looks really good, sf. I'm feeling a bit famished.
