Bad Boys II was finished at 2K, so I don't think we'll be seeing an Mi4K release. Still, just getting it on Blu-ray would be a start.

Oh well...
Absolutely. There were a number of catalog titles I was hoping would come out.

Whats wrong with the current Blu of Starship Troopers? Unlike other Verhoeven flicks like Total Recall and Robocop that needed remasters because the first releases were poor, Starship Troopers already looks pretty good.

The U.K. disc looks marginally better than the U.S. disc, but the U.S. disc has more extras. I have both discs for this very reason.

Just noticed that The Bits said Spider-Man 2 M4K is coming on 4/22. Not sure what that means...maybe he meant Spider-Man 3?

Nope. It's the reissue of the second one.

That doesn't make any sense. It has to be a 4K scan of Spider-Man 3 with a higher bitrate encode.

Its a reissue of Spider-Man 2 in 4K (at least according to Amazon). Weren't some people complaining about the framing on this title? Maybe this is a corrected edition.

And why did you link to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 imdb page then?

Does seem strange that they're re-releasing it so soon. Contentious framing aside, there weren't any technical problems with the disc, not on my gear anyway.

He was saying that the first BD release of Total Recall was poor and it was, the release last year which had a brand new director approved transfer is the best.

Watched the Mi4K version of MiB the other night. It's not the home run I was hoping for, as many of the issues inherent to the source are still very obvious, like the baked-in edge halos and the pale, sallow colour in many of the VFX shots (which, in my experience, is surprisingly common to CG from that late '90s period). The old-school opticals - like the dissolve on big Willy as he contemplates joining the MiB - stand out like a sore thumb too, but that's par for the course.

BUT......when it's good, it's very good, with tight grain and some beautifully crisp detail, 'specially on the close-ups. And the CG still holds up remarkably well (slightly dodgy colour aside, natch).

Forgot just how damned funny the movie is, too.

I want to pick up Ghostbusters mastered in 4k, but I'm still waiting to see what is going on with Ghostbusters 2 on blu-ray.

If that's literally all the release is Sony should offer a disc exchange program for any fans of the film who purchased the current MI4K release. Or a mail-in to get the new disc. Something of the sort.

I still hope for more MI4K re-release announcements. Especially Spider-Man 3, because it would be nice to actually complete the trilogy with the best transfers possible. There are a lot of Sony titles worth upgrading though.

I have bought and watched Men in Black, Glory, and Ghostbusters as part of this line and I can personally vouch for all three's PQ. It is a substantial upgrade over the previous releases for sure.

I would love to pick up Glory, but the lack of extras keeps me from pulling the trigger every time. I just need to buck up and do it.
