I LOVE how he uses a speculation comment from John Carmack to start a rumor about the PS4.

Penton feel free to rip him a new one.
This guy needs to do a bit more research. For one, the QDEO video processor has been around for quite awhile now. My LG BH200 in the family room has one in it.

Also, the scaler in the new Oppo player is not the same as the one in their 980 model. The new chip is the same as the one in the DVDO Edge video processor and feature HD de-interlacing, something their previous scaling only chips lacked.

It seems most of his comments are geared at the technology surrounding the Blu-ray format, not so much the format itself. I was frustrated with the different profiles and their different rollout periods as much as the next user but that hasn't been an issue in quite sometime and the player price tags have fallen drastically in the last year, which is probably going to undermind the value of the format sooner than it should. I think the CE market and studios shot themselves in the foot when they started releasing DVD at prices at or near $5 with players less than $100. Trying to get any other format out there and charge a premium for it is an uphill battle when you've devalued your product that much, regardless of how great it is.

Yeah, I think your last sentence hit it right on the mark. $1 rentals from RedBox isnt helping either.

p.s. I have a mancrush on Roger Federer

I prefer his Keeley Hazell avatar that he had, but Lucy Pinder is my fav from the Brits.

Poor Casey is toast, Squid!

Sucks to see a juicy three-way chase drop down to two.

I really feel sorry for the guy. Not knowing whats wrong has got to be miserable. I think we'll start seeing Dovi in the mix. He is consistent. He is methodical in his work. He has not rushed things (smart). He has a win (lucky) under his belt for confidence and HRC just signed him for TWO years. That peace of mind alone should allow him to really focus.

Lorenzo lost all his leverage...LOL. Good. He will stay at Yamaha and tighten the screws on Vale.

Huh, hadn't heard about the Barbara Kopple doc... We don't have VH1 here, so wonder if anybody's showing it. Sounds like it might not suck.

The quote from Townshend in the CNN article is a great simplification, but he's been the most erudite, I think, contextualizing the whole thing from a more realist, pragmatic point of view. And I've still -yet- to see video footage of him pushing Abbie off the stage.

I also, weirdly, hadn't actually done the math to realize that Isle of Wight was just a couple weeks later. That's just crazypants.

It's still far more astounding to see the sea change between Monterey (check out the straight-laced crowd!) and Woodstock.... Such a short some for such a seismic change.

And, yeah, Gimme Shelter also is a must see. So many good late-60s Rock-Docs to consume!

Or else he'll go to Ducati!

I have to say, for Casey's health, sitting out a month or so is probably about the best thing possible.

There does sometimes seem to be miscommunication between individuals who have never met, with this sort of stuff……..

especially in West Hollywood.

You guys just can’t get away from the motor-sickle talk.
I feel the urge this weekend to go over to Suzuki Headquarters and take a pic of a sculpture thingee they have over there to show you the real deal.

Have either of you guys seen the Woodstock Blu-ray?
If so, watch this video clip (thanks to sharkshark’s post above ), to kick-start your memory banks…………….

http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Musi...ml#cnnSTCVideo

and tell me what type of motor-sickle was Producer Michael Lang riding around that cow pasture in upstate N.Y. on during the preparation to stage that event.

P.S.
Squid, maybe you should supply some sort of link in your signature to the Chamber of Commerce of your humble neck of the woods, as some people may think you live somewhere in France.

Hey, it's been a couple weeks for me!

If the BD distribs would hurry up with the release schedule... nothing I've wanted for two months now. That changes on Tuesday, though.

You should be required to pay more state taxes than the rest of us.
I occasionally ‘hack’…….for which I presume the local gopher population immensely dislikes me.

I don't think you guys can race this, but Orange County Choppers built it so you sneak by the competition.
