Anyone else who bought a LG Signature 65" OLED W7 Wallpaper this year relieved that the new model this year is marginally (at best) better?

I see Denon now out with the $3999 AVR-X8500H, Marantz has the $4,499.00 AV-8805 Preamp both are 13.2 channel based
Looking at the dimensions the AVR-X8500 is now 18.7" depth, compare to the the x7200's 17.2" depth. The width and height are the same. Last edited by JohnAV; 01-09-2018 at 08:47 PM. |

Just got the low down from John Archer.
Samsung's floor is filled with 2017 QLED tvs. Their new 2018 Qled full array is locked up in a special room that is INVITE only. No pictures ALLOWED. John is writing up his article about it soon. Product launch is supposed to be March for these tvs. Samsung and Sony being unprepared for CES is pretty disappointing compared to previous years where they had 90% of their lineup on display. Were referring to the actual 2018 FALD Qled, not the micro led TV. CNET yesterday posted 1 picture of the 2018 Qled, I reposted it yesterday a few pages back. |

That settles it; my current TV stand can support the 85" X900F and I'm very much considering getting one. Sure, I could spend a little less and get the 65" Z9D (82"-85" Sony X9 series displays right now are ~$1k more than 65" Z9D) but I'd prefer 20" more screen size over slightly higher precision any day.
Should be a huge upgrade over my Vizio P-Series if it can keep or improve upon the ~1500-nit peaks of the previous X9 TVs, too. Excited to learn more about it! |

3 more players to add HDR10+ support. All of Samsung's 2017 players.

I still expect Sony will come up with at least one high end LCD TV later this year (possibly follow up to Z9D), which will make use of the new X1 Ultimate processor chip. I also think they might release another DV capable UHD player to go with that.
Pure speculation on my part, hope it will come true though. ![]() |

It really makes sense. Going another year on OLED, with the kickstand model and now tradition stand would also make sense. Other than mainly peak nit output, the 2017 Sony OLED is a great display, and I do not see them getting more nits until maybe LG's 2019 next gen panel? So why change it, just keep selling a great tv at prices that get lower. I mean you can steal a 65" ZD9 right now too.
