Can you guys point me in the right direction? I want to go back and pickup all of the scream titles that I have missed. Is there a list of slipcovers that are oop? If not, do you have a better chance of getting the early titles with a slip if you order from Amazon or directly from Shout Factory? Or is there another place that you would recommend going to get the early titles with a slip? Thanks for all of the help.

Curiously, with it's acquisiton of Timeless Media Group, Shout Factory has rights to at least the first 5 Howling films and as disposable as some installments might be it'd be cool to see another multi-feature pack.

There's no list of Scream Factory titles without slips. The slips were only included in early pressings of a title but it can seem random. For example, I ordered Day of the Dead direct from Scream on week and received no slip then next week several others ordered the same and received a slip. You might have a better chance with out of the way vendors that have less product turnover or looking at brick and mortar stores if able. Other than physically seeing a slipcover there's no guarantee you will receive one especially since most of the Collector's Editions are now older.

I keep reading these sorts of comments on here and it makes me wonder if people realize that this mentality perfectly describes horror movies. There's some really great stuff and epic schlock that MOST people are likely to scratch their head and wonder "why" even with top tier films. The horror genre is more of a cult oddity than something that can be objectively explained and especially today lacks universal appeal. Most horror movies are not large scale sure fire cash grabs produced by Roger Corman, directed by John Carpenter, or starring Vincent Price (those are epic films well worth owning) and it's about time Scream Factory started diversifying focusing on 'risky' movies more likely to take chances. I'm surprised there's not more buzz to see stuff like Sleepaway Camp II/III, New Year's Evil, Frogs, Ghoulies, The Howling II, Class of 1984, Destroyer, or even Dog Soldiers come out in quality editions - many of those were VHS video store gems perfectly examplifying horror traditions.

Trust me, I understand that some people may feel that, for example, baloney is a culinary delight. I'm just not one of them. Everyone is entitled to an opinion I'm entitled to mine, and you're certainly entitled to yours. Don't criticize people for expressing one, ok, pal?
You still didnt name any titles that you would call a *More Impressive Slate of releases*
While you are entitled to your opinion, with your post you actually opened up the criticism with it. Its your post, not your film taste in question here. I know many do disagree about the releases being lackluster and take exception to your post. I was the one that spoke up.
You pretty much set yourself up with your comment, pal

There was a lot of buzz for those titles at different times. When Sleepaway Camp was announced last year, everyone was like wheres 2 and 3. Howling II was highly sought after for years and I guess some people gave up because it was shot down many times, but with their current MGM deal, they decided to license it for those who want it. Out of those titles I dont think there was ever any buzz for Destroyer

How far-fetched is it to think we will ever see a Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street release like the Halloween boxset?

I would say never from Scream since both of those series have complete set releases already. Why not just get those?

I have both the Friday the 13th and Nightmare sets that are currently on blu-ray but I would love to have a release like the Scream Factory Halloween box. I would love to have individual cases for each release with the orginal artwork. I know it's a longshot but I was just curious to see what you guys think.

They should do a Alien/Pred collection ultimate set like the Halloween set.

AVP.
AVPR.
PREDATOR.
PREDATOR 2.
PREDATORS.
ALIEN.
ALIENS.
ALIEN 3.
ALIEN RESURRECTION.
PROMETHEUS.

All with either both versions of each film available all with any previous upgraded PQ that already exists, and give the ones that need upgrading a new transfer..Any and all special features that already exist or any unseen ones could be added. new interactive features, and the collector's box can have extra slots/disc holders and spots where you can insert any artwork for the upcoming...PREDATOR 4. PROMETHEUS 2 AND PROMETHEUS 3.

It may be an 12-15 disc set but for the right price they could have a winner on their hands.

To go along with the "Tales from the Crypt/The Vault of Horror" Double Feature BluRay they should release more Anthonogy Films like:
  • Cat's Eye
  • Tales From the DarkSide
  • From Beyond the Grave
  • And Now the Screaming Starts
  • Nightmares

This!

I would also like to see Breeders and the Tales From The Crypt movies. (Demon Knight and Bordello of Blood)

I would buy those including the Tales From The Dark Side movie in a New York minute......

These titles are all great but are all with studios not doing business with Scream.. I doubt Scream will do an Alien set because there already is one and Im sure Fox would do a huge set themselves for those movies if they wanted to..
Cats Eye, From Beyond the Grave are with Warner..Tales from the Darkside might be with Warner or Paramount

Agreed. I highly doubt Fox, would ever allow another company to release, anything Star Wars or Alien related.

I doubt they'd even give The Omen franchise away. Well Omen I & II at least.

Can't believe how much I am falling behind on these releases. I still have to get 29 titles just to catch up on all of them.

Yes to Tales From the Darkside. That needs to be on blu-ray.

There is an Italian release of Cat's Eye which is supposed to be pretty good and its region free.

Maybe Part IV if that. In all honesty while nothing against wish lists and the like, sometimes a little research about what studio has which titles does wonders That way we can get requests that are at least possible, since anything with Warner isn't, including titles like Wolfen, The Hidden, From Beyond the Grave, Deadly Friend, Critters, Hammer titles owned by Warner,
Same for Lionsgate and Image.. films like Chud, 976-Evil, Cube, House, House II, Hellraiser simply aren't likely at this time..
However - movies from MGM such as Needful Things (shot down though) Scream and Scream Again, The Oblong Box, Diary of A Madman, Count Yorga etc at least have some chance. These days with MGM - their titles are being gutted left and right so its likely any studio could license any title.

This is an open forum where folks have a right to express an opinion. I'm not going to argue with the likes of you. If you don't like my opinion, then it ignore it. It's as simple as that.

More to the point, respect the fact that people have a right to expression an opinion without criticism or condemnation. Do you think you can do that, pal?
