Does Miramax still have Rampage (the William Friedkin film)? Imagine some studio (or Friedkin himself) getting the rights and including both versions of the film (the 1987 international version and the 1992 domestic version have different endings and some slight changes). In a way, it feels like the lost Friedkin film (due to the legal issues surrounding the US theatrical release, a lack of a DVD release and so on).

Shock Treatment would kick ass. Frankenstein Unbound would too.
For some reason Stendhal Syndrome was on the Miramax wiki page, but yeah its a blue underground title and of course they arent all that accurate at times. That film is super disturbing
I forgot it was one Miramax title to be included on a set...

It's not Phantasm because it has a Miramax title. The news is from a Killer POV from early or the middle of last year.

Could it be The Crow series? The third film never got a Blu-ray release domestically while the second film has a 160 minute director's cut somewhere in the vaults.

No. It is only one film, according to Cliff.

I'm guessing it's Cursed for a Wes Craven set. Toss in Swamp Thing, Deadly Blessing, maybe Last House on the Left, maybe WB will give up Deadly Friend, Red Eye, or Vampire in Brooklyn.

Oh man I would love to see a release of Red Eye. It's a really good thriller and I haven't seen it in quite some time.

Miramax has Mother of Tears. Would it be out of the range of possibility of it being a Three Mothers trilogy? Another Argento set of some kind?

Well, Mother of Tears is actually TWC, not Miramax.

I wouldn't expect the Three Mothers trilogy to be the case, as Synapse is working on a restoration of Suspiria to be released later this year. Depending on the movies included, I could certainly be tempted by an Argento set though!

Mother of Tears might be with Cinedigm now as Weinstein sold the pre-2009 library to Vivendi Visual (which is now owned by Cinedigm). But Cinedigm has no interest in their library titles (they are also sitting on a bunch of Docurama titles and some Tribeca titles that were DVD-only*).

* - By the way, I do not understand the logic on what Tribeca titles hit Blu. Detachment and The Broken Circle Breakdown were DVD-only but Grave Encounters 2 got a Blu-ray.

I don't care who has to pull the strings or make friends, but a Hellraiser set would make my day. I'd absolutely fork over the cash for an all inclusive set. Children of the corn would be a decent set to have as well.

Existenz if they're digging into the Miramax catelog would be a great release for scream.

I don't really pay much attention to issues of who has rights to what and SF's relationships with certain studios so forgive me if this is common knowledge to most of you, but why doesn't Lionsgate license out their catalog if they aren't going to put stuff out themselves? Asking price too high?

I went to a different Movie Stop while I was in a different part of the city today, and found...

(drumroll, please)

A new copy of They Live with the slipcover in perfect condition

I don't normally get jazzed up about slipcovers, but I've been holding out on this particular title in hopes of finding one with the slip. They Live is a cheeseball of a movie, but it'll bring back a lot of great high school memories.

I asked Jeff about the Cliff comment and he said they have no deals with Miramax so I guess that ends that speculation.

Most importantly though by far - I hope all my East Coast peers on these pages are doing okay and staying warm in the blizzard.. be well

It's not all that bad over by Boston yet. Yet.

Jeff has been led to mislead in the past, so I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Anyone hear anything about this French release of Triffids? The page translators make reviews seem like gibberish. I want to see what the pic quality is like. dsman71, you have great skills, have you heard anything?

http://www.amazon.es/R%C3%A9volte-Triffides-Internacional-DVD/dp/B00IIWEU76/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422326775&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=La+R%C3%A9volte+des+Triffides+%5B%C 3%89dition+Sp%C3%A9ciale%5D

Everyone on the East Coast, take care, be safe.

I would concur. The Miramax deal/box set has been mentioned on a few occasions and as far as I'm concerned is all but confirmed.. so I'd wager that anything said to refute that a box set is coming is likely just them blowing smoke to try and throw people off the trail. I highly doubt they want another title being let out of the bag early yet again.
