I'm so glad it's The Sentinel!! Can't wait to pick it up!

Wish List:
1. Shocker
2. Village of the Damned
3. Psycho IV (w/ Bates Motel)
4. The Serpent and the Rainbow
5. Raising Cain
6. Ghost Story
7. Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight / Bordello of Blood (Double Feature)
8. The Hitcher (2007) / The Hitcher II: I've Been Waiting (Double Feature)
9. The People Under the Stairs
10. The Thing (honestly the current edition leaves much to be desired)

Those are just the biggies that I can think of off the top of my head! I really hope I can finally cross those off the list soon!
Add Slither and our bases are covered. Maybe some Hammers too.

So this new announcement means that SF has a new deal with Universal? What does this mean in terms of potential titles that could be released now?

On the subject of Universal wishlists, Scream also posted this in the comments section:

Quote:
We've heard them all over the last 3 years. Expect that some of them are coming.
I think it's fairly safe to say the likes of Shocker, Serpent and the Rainbow, Demon Knight, Village of the Damned, Nightmares and Raising Cain would be among these, as well as maybe CE's of already-released titles like The Thing, Army of Darkness, The People Under the Stairs and Firestarter.

One thing's for sure - the line with Universal being open again should ensure the line is able to run for some time yet.

If they do RAISING CAIN (which I think is a tremendously under-rated film) I'd love to see them release a reconstruction of DePalma's original non-linear edit of the film. A film professor put one together based on the script and put it on-line a while back and it was a very interesting viewing experience.

I'm really holding out for Psycho 4 (I know people say it's a TV movie but it doesn't feel like one at all). Just think Scream has known about this deal for a while now (while everybody has been putting them down for their recent announcements). I bet they were thinking just wait.

lots of great wishlist titles!

my top hopes are for--

Tales from the Crypt-- Demon Knight and Bordello
Ghost Story
any 50's Universal monster flicks
any Hammer films

and.... (though it will probably never happen).. a collector's edition of 1979's DRACULA with new interviews with the cast, deleted scenes, and, of course, a new restored transfer with full COLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I'll restrict my Universal wishlist to titles that have NOT been respectably released overseas:

Ghost Story
The Legacy
Death Becomes Her
Waterworld: Uncensored Extended Cut

OK, that last one won't happen, but the others are a given

Yeah, that would be great. I have been hoping Arrow would do it since they've done such a great job with most of his other horror/thrillers, but will be happy if anyone that bothers to produce good extras beats them to it.

Rooting back I found an old list of Universal titles from the 70s to 90s I'd compiled rather crudely. I'm sure there's more. Maybe we could get something pretty comprehensive together in terms of letting people know what might be available, not just for this period but before and after also. I know Scream haven't given us much at all in the way of films made before the 70s (Price aside), but the other Universal Monster films and the sci-fi films of the 50s, if available, may just tempt them.

The Boy Who Cried Werewolf (1973) (Never Released on DVD)
Sssssss (1973)
Killdozer (1974) (TV, but fairly high profile)
The Car (1977)
Rollercoaster (1977)
Dracula (1979) *

An American Werewolf in London (1981) *
Burned at the Stake (AKA The Coming) (1981) (Never Released on DVD)
Ghost Story (1981)
Nighthawks (1981)
The Thing (1982) *
Nightmares (1983)
Firestarter (1984) *
The 'Burbs (1989)
Shocker (1989)

Buried Alive (1990) (TV, but Frank Darabont and very good)
Child's Play 2 and 3 (1990-1991) *
The Guardian (1990)
I'm Dangerous Tonight (1990) (TV, but Tobe Hooper)
Psycho IV (1990) (TV, but high profile)
Tremors (1990) *
Cape Fear (1991) *
Death Becomes Her (1992)
Raising Cain (1992)
Army of Darkness (1993) *
Judgment Night (1993)
Matinee (1993)
Demon Knight (1995)
Tales from the Hood (1995)
Village of the Damned (1995)
Bordello of Blood (1996)
The Frighteners (1996) *
Virus (1999)

* Indicates titles previously released on Blu in the US

In an effort to have as much John Carpenter as possible, The Thing and Village of the Damned would be at the top of my list. That being said, I would love to see releases Nightmares and Dr. Giggles. I would also like to see The Trigger Effect, despite being a bit outside of the norm for the label.

And if Psycho IV does come, would kind of like Psycho 1998 as well for completions sake.

Maybe I'm missing something but why would Psycho IV being a TV movie matter as to whether or not Scream Factory would release it? Have they ruled out TV movies all together or what?

They released their TV Terrors DVD which had 2 made-for-TV movies (which unfortunately didn't sell well) and Body Bags is technically a TV-movie, but made for Showtime. Without knowing anything specific, it sounds like it's a fine line.

I'll wait for the reviews because this will be a master from Universal (*shudder*), but this is still great news. I'm always up for more Winner cheese on Blu.

Sadly, Dr. Giggles is with WB now. They released it in a double with Otis (the Daniel Stern movie).

I imagine Psycho IV and Psycho (1998) would be a double, like Carrie 2 and Carrie (2002).

No but they gave excuses as to why not to release it and I thought one of the them was that it was made for TV. Either way I hope they change their mind.
