I could not agree with you more. It seems by the time you're able to check out nice collector's items in stores within the States they are already sold out. I've looked at all the stores around me and haven't seen a single Scream release available.

The only place that carries Shout releases, near me, is Hastings. I don't like their disorganized shelves but it's better than nothing.

They can release what they want, but some of their excuses for ignoring Psycho IV are silly. At first they said they didn't want to release TV movies...then they release some made for TV movies. They say they thought the quality of Psycho IV wasn't great and they didn't want to dilute their lineup by releasing it. Then, they release piles of excrement like Garbage Pail Kids and Scanners 2/3 among others.

I'm sure some are tired of hearing this title brought up. I'm sure Scream is tired of hearing this brought up. Well, all they have to do is release it. Make it a double feature with Bates Motel or the remake and this Groundhog Dayesque discussion can be put to bed, at which point we can get back to our regularly scheduled "does XXX title still ship with a slip cover...I can't live without a slip cover...the world will literally stop rotating if I don't get a slip cover" discussion.
Steaming pile of garbage, piles of excrement, maybe to you and others, but not to the collectors who own or will own the titles they release. I own Scanners II and III by the way, thank you very much
There are 3 reasons why Shouts acquisition person, you know who, hasn't obtained the film.
1) He isnt interested in licensing Psycho IV, but that wouldn't make sense will all the requests
2) Shout hasn't being offered the title - which seems unlikely if they actually did turn it down because they didn't like the film.
3)Psycho IV had no HD master at the time and were waiting until there was one.
Since its getting released overseas, there is now an HD master for it.
Now on a very old podcast both Cliff and Jeff have said they have licensed films that the other person did not like. This being said, I will stand by the guessing that Psycho IV will eventually wind up on blu ray , if not from Shout, possibly Universal themselves with the other three films..

Jealous. FYE is my only option and though I've seen some Scream releases, they have not had slipcases and were $29. Utterly impossible NOT to choose Amazon.

How often have you gotten slip covers from Amazon? I bought Sleepaway Camp, Day Of The Dead, Motel Hell and Night Of The Demons and the only one that came with a slip cover was Day Of The Dead.

I finally picked up From a Whisper to a Scream this last week and decided on watching it tonight. Quick question for anyone that owns this release... does the Theatrical Trailer Special feature play for you guys? Whenever I select it from the special features list the screen goes black and nothing happens. I can use pop up menu/top menu to back out of the selection, but no matter how I try to play the trailer it always fails to load. Just curious if this was a problem with all copies, or if it's something exclusive to my disc.
It's been a while since I played this disc, but I definitely remember this issue now. The trailer would not play at all in my Panasonic player. But then I immediately tried it in my Philips player and the trailer played fine in that one. So it's probably just a compatibility issue and all discs are the same; just an authoring glitch which prevents playback on all types of players.

Thanks for the Reply! It isn't a huge deal by any means, and the trailer itself is actually included on the Phantom of the Opera release, I was just curious how prevalent the issue was.

In Recent weeks I've been toying with an idea of compiling every possible Horror Trailer I can come up with and creating a BD collection of nothing but all of these great trailers. I thought it could be a fun compilation to put on during Halloween Parties or while I'm doing other things around the house but want some background noise... similar to the Film Reels Blockbuster used to show before they went out of business. Just taking a glance at my collection will reveal how many potential trailers I have to work with and that number is growing all the time. I just need to settle down and begin the process of transferring them to my pc at this point.

I just checked on my Oppo BDP-103 and it played just fine.

The Burning and The Funhouse are the only two that I got with slipcases from Amazaon, (with the former being as recent as yesterday) but I started collecting these releases quite a while after their initial release. I figured that was why I wasn't getting any of them.

Exactly.
Of course you have to understand that certain members that frequent this forum, don't get the simple fact that different people like different things.

Im in different about them, I still see it as a piece of cardboard that often gets JAMMED!!! at retail stores on their display shelf and you waste time fumbling through all the copies to find and undamaged one

Scream have confirmed that Return of the Living Dead is coming mid-summer (July?), with first details in April. Which, providing Manhunter doesn't come in May, suggests we can expect at least a couple of surprises, what with You'll Like My Mother the only confirmed release so far (Lady in White could be another). They've been consistently putting out 4-5 retro releases a month this year so far.

I don't care about slip covers but every Scream Factory film I've ordered on Amazon came with a slip cover.

Mmmm. This could mark an interesting change of direction for Scream; releasing more pre-70s stuff maybe? Certainly indicates quite a deep recent deal with Universal.

Looking at other titles in the Universal Vault Series, something like Games (1967) could be a decent bet, given the cast and especially the involvement of Curtis Harrington:

Anyone who doesn't have it should snatch Final Exam up for that price ($9.99)! Easily my favorite blind purchase from Scream Factory.

That is super-tempting, but it looks like shipping is right at $6, and that puts it at the same price Amazon is asking. Still, I might do it just to support the label.
