Darn I was hoping for this:

I've picked up several Lionsgate titles from South Korean retailers so the studio definitely licenses out to third parties, unless, of course, international rights are a different matter. This isn't a situation where Lionsgate controls US distribution rights and StudioCanal, for instance, controls other territories - these are Lionsgate-owned titles like Raw Deal, Chaplin and Red Heat among others. Maybe they only license to countries other than the US.

Someone else posted that that quote occurred nearly 150 films ago. I know that there have been plenty of great releases the last few years so I really don't see the quote as being inaccurate. Scream Factory has just about released everything worthwhile from MGM and Universal so why not pump out some of the last few titles if they can get their hands on them and it's been obvious that there's been a vocal group of people wanting part 4 for a while now anyways.

I personally thought the movie was okay, but I would wait until it drops to $15 at least.

Absolutely. One of the better done films, that gets very little recognition, in my opinion. Very very creepy. Plus, you get to see the tail end of Caruso's film career.

Better was certainly not the right word. I meant bigger.
TV movies don't tend to sell well.
Of course this isn't your average TV movie.
We had a lot of requests for it, so we picked it up.

Hey you're not hearing any complaints from me I certainly felt your rationale was fitting when the quote was made and wouldn't argue with you if you made it today as well. I'm always happy to see another catalog release. Especially one that as had a fairly vocal group requesting it.

Now, about Tales from the Hood or Slumber Party Massacre 2/3....

I guess that's why one of the TV movies I liked made a DVD only to be gone in the year or two. Like that DVD of The Midnight Hour.

Since you dropped by cmac and will hopefully see this as well, is there any chance that Shout Factory has considered Cloak and Dagger and/or The Wizard for a future Shout Factory release? I know universal did a double feature DVD years ago that I own, but I would love the chance to snag Cloak and Dagger on Blu Ray as it's always been a personal favorite of mine.

Sorry if this has been mentioned in here, is the Child's Play thing true? I saw the other thread but didn't see it here (could have missed it though). I don't know why that one never even came to mind when thinking of SF options.

Cliff - can you tell us if you have any more pre-1990 Universal titles coming, that aren't CE's of titles previously released on Blu?

Burned at the Stake (AKA The Coming) would be great, providing it's still with Universal.

How about Robot Wars and Crash and Burn? Shout did a DVD double feature of them and you recently put out Robot Jox. Would be nice to complete the Empire robot "trilogy".

Our “Summer of Fear” line-up continues to grow with the announce of SESSION 9! Directed by Brad Anderson (The Machinist) this underrated 2001 chiller will be coming to Blu-ray for the first time on August 16th.

Grand, imposing... abandoned and deteriorating, the Danvers State Mental Hospital, closed down for 15 years is about to receive 5 new visitors. Donning protective gear, the men of the Hazmat Elimination Co. venture into the eerily vast and vacant asylum that is filled with an evil and mysterious past. Rampant patient abuse, medieval medical procedure and rumors of demonic possession are some of the many dark secrets the hospital holds - but then so do each of the men.

This "deliciously disturbing" (Us Weekly) thriller features a talented cast including David Caruso (CSI: Miami), Peter Mullan (War Horse, Trainspotting), Paul Guilfoyle (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Josh Lucas (American Psycho), Stephen Gevedon (Show Me a Hero) and Brendan Sexton III (The Killing, Boys Don't Cry).

Extras are in progress and will be announced sometime later on in the early Summer time period. Pre-order now @https://www.shoutfactory.com/film/film-horror/session-9
