Probably , and I believe that the Andy Warhol movies are with the same company , which was why I took a stab at guessing them for last nights picks. I thought that they might have them, maybe they do ???

"Also among the notable titles in Westchester’s library of more than 400 films are The Marx Brothers’ A Night in Casablanca (1946), Orson Welles’ Othello (1952), Fanny (1961) starring Leslie Caron, Hell’s Angels on Wheels with Jack Nicholson (1967), The Romantic Englishwoman (1975) starring Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson, The Stunt Man (1980) with Peter O’Toole, Bruce Beresford’s Breaker Morant (1980) and eight Godzilla films, including the 1954 original."

Frankly, "Last House on the Left" does not need a re-issue. The disc out now has a ton of bonus material, what else would you want? I find it stupid to just want a re-issue of an already stacked bonus material-wise disc re-issued just so it has the "Scream Factory" or "Collector's Edition" banner.

Further more, we all know, or should know Shout! and Scream are one in the same and for every new Carpenter release comes a new Carpenter interview. So, why did they drop the ball on "Elvis" that is coming out under the "Shout! Select" banner? Because it's not horror? Very likely. I would have loved to hear John talk about it, how he got the project, did he even like Elvis, ect. but no all we get are: ""Bringing A Legend To Life" Featurette With Archival Interviews Of Kurt Russell And John Carpenter (1979)", "Commentary By "The Voice Of Elvis" Ronnie McDowell And Author Edie Hand", and "Rare Clips From American Bandstand" which probably has nothing to do with the actual film and a photo gallery.

But, nevertheless it is a Carpenter/Russell effort, I will buy it, sight unseen, it's never been available really before, so I hope it's entertaining, mildly good. But new interviews would've put the release over the top. Also find the running time interesting, was this not a TV movie or are my facts wrong? A runtime 10min short of 3 hours is pretty long, I'm just curious what era of Elivs' life it covers and what not as I find him very interesting (yes I recently just saw "Elvis & Nixon" as well, Michael Shannon rules.) and I think I'll likely enjoy the release.

Yeah it's a tricky one, because clearly many of their titles have been licenced to other companies for physical release (Criterion, Code Red, etc). There's not a great deal on there I could see Scream releasing, save for, as you say, the two Warhol movies, The House That Dripped Blood, Gargoyles, Barracuda and Monster Shark (if indeed the rights to these films are available to them).

I'm surprised they had the original Godzilla. I'm really curious now about what the other 7 Godzilla movies are.

Same could be said about TCM2, ROTLD, IOTBS, etc. But now instead of just adding a few new extras, they do a new and improved scan as well. That makes these rereleases worthwhile to collectors.

I don't think I'd buy ALL of 'em, but yeah they did good. I just hope they port over all the existing MGM features on "To Live and Die in L.A." and maybe add some new ones.

EDIT: And I'm confident the release will go that way, considering "Road House" was in the same spot and they did right by that release no reason not to for this one. I just wish they didn't number the spines like Criterion is all.

Yeah I know, I get that, it's just a pain in the ass selling off the old copies for news left and right, you know?

I hear you. I don't like having to rebuy titles I already have either.

But if it's worth it, I'll do it. I'm just glad I'm not a OCD packaging collector.

Regarding a non-"Slither" announcement. The only thing I can think of is that Universal has a good film from a now A-list director who turned "Guardians of the Galaxy" into one of Marvel's best properties and they're holding it hostage to release themselves, so they can sticker it with sh*t like "From the director of "Guardians of the Galaxy!"

If not I hope it's on Shout!/Scream Factory's radar and they can maybe acquire it for release just before Vol. 2 of "Guardians" comes out, James Gunn is a humble guy I'm sure he would participate in the blu-ray extras, I mean he still diddle daddles with Troma every now and then for Christ's sake.

I wonder which titles we can expect to see this side of Christmas? I'm guessing Dead Ringers, Black Christmas (for obvious reasons, though New Year's Evil might serve as a warning), and maybe one other CE (Dreamscape?), along with Dead of Winter and a couple of other titles. That said, last year a further 4 titles for November and December were revealed at a later date (White of the Eye, Zombie High, That Brain That Wouldn't Die, Eliminators/Dungeonmaster), so it's possible additional reveals for November and December are in the works.

Interesting to note that last year 7 of the 10 SDCC announcements made it out before Christmas, with The Guardian coming in January and the two others quite a bit later.

Super impressed by these announcements. Particularly the two Cronenbergs. I could see myself picking up 5-6 of the new CEs plus some Shout Select titles. I've never preordered anything from Shout/Scream, but that could be soon to change!

Is there any indication of the timeframe for these releases? Will most of them be out by the end of the year, or by the next Comic Con, etc.?

I guess you have in mind a Canadian company? The common link seems to be the Canadian Film Development Corporation, who I see were also involved in the likes of Funeral Home, The Haunting of Julia, Death Weekend (The House by the Lake) and Murder by Phone. Wishful thinking I suspect, but we can dream.

They said some will be out in Nov/Dec, the rest next year.

Okay I just learned Dreamscape is with MGM as part of their Weintraub Entertainment deal. They also had Return of the Living Dead, Howling II, etc

The Michael Jackson music for Ben cleared up so that's why it is coming out now..

They do have Monster Shark since it was an MST3K release.
Henstooth has House that Dripped Blood, BUT you can stream it on Shouts website and I think they will probably release it on bluray when the Henstooth rights expire

Gargoyles I think is with VCI

Barracuda seems to be with Republic which could eventually mean Olive Films
