Just read about the announcements. I'm in for everything except Poltergeist 2&3 (I'm okay with the previously released double). Don't care how bad they are. I'm excited for Slumber 2&3. I like cheesy slashers!

If you have never seen Slumber Party Massacre II, you may want to do some research on it to see if it is your cup of tea. It is NOT the typical slasher that the first film was. I personally have grown to love it over the years, but a lot of people despise it.

Hopefully, Scream Factory can work a miracle, with the pic on Black Christmas. I would love to see, a really big difference in pic quality, to justify double dipping.

Glad I held off importing Rabid!! Looking forward to Willard & Ben. Never seen Bubba Ho-Tep, sounds iffy for me.

slumber party massacre 2 takes a similar route as texas chainsaw massacre 2: slapstick compared to the original.

I love Bubba Ho-Tep, but it seems to be pretty polarizing.

I'm right there with out on Rabid - I almost imported Arrow's version during their sale earlier this Summer. I'm really excited about Black Christmas - I hope they put the kind of work into it like they've done for TCM 2, ROTLD, etc.

Slumber Party Massacre II is probably my favorite announcement, I love that movie. It's a hoot (like they took the pizza delivery scene from the original and cranked it up to ten for the whole movie). Always got a kick out of the copyright notice during the end credits, too. "Infringement will subject the infringer to severe civil and criminal prosecution as well as a midnight call from The Driller Killer."

That series in general rules. I'm sticking with the Collection DVD from Shout!, but it's cool that people are getting these after clamoring for them.

Regarding your wishlist, is the Elves you mention that one with Dan Haggerty?

I haven't ever seen it, but if nothing else, I can't have 1&3 without 2! It's worth a shot. Thanks for the heads up either way.

Yeah. I hated Bubba Ho-Tep both times I watched it. So I tried to read the short story, as I love the concept. And I hated that too...

Has anyone watched the Serpent and the Rainbow Blu-ray yet? I was under the assumption they did a new transfer for that title, but popped in the disc last night and it's apparent they didn't from the opening Universal logo. It's quite a shame they didn't do new stand for Wes Craven's The People Under the Stairs, Shocker, and Serpent and the Rainbow.

Weintraub Entertainment Group had purchased a large film library from The Cannon Group in 1987 (Thorn-EMI Screen Entertainment), but I believe that library is currently owned by StudioCanal, not MGM/UA, and featured titles such as Highlander and Link. I believe they handled/inherited home video distribution for Howling II, Return of the Living Dead and Dreamscape under the Thorn EMI / HBO Video labels, but I think that was the extent of their involvement.

I'm pretty sure Howling II and Return of the Living Dead were acquired from Hemdale Film Corporation's bankruptcy through Lambda Library Company, Inc. (now an MGM subsidiary).

End of titles list for document V3340P272

Dreamscape has the same production team as Fear City: Bruce Cohn Curtis, Tom Curtis, Jerry Tokofsky, and Stanley R. Zupnik. Fear City was licensed from Westchester Films, which is a Shout! Factory subsidiary, and I'm pretty sure that is the source for Dreamscape as well (Dreamscape is listed on their website). These appear to be the only two films produced under Zupnik-Curtis Enterprises, Inc. / Chevy Chase Films Limited Partnership. Both films were released theatrically by Fox and I'm guessing both films were ultimately acquired by Westchester Films at the same time.

Does anyone think Child's Play 2 and 3 will still be released by SF at some point?

Why? I'm sure Arrows release will still be better (not to mention their release had a steelbook).

That's not a given. Screams release of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 has better video than the Arrow release.
