I haven't voted yet myself either due to not being familiar with most titles, however I have considered what you said... I have also considered that if I were to throw up meaningless votes that I likely have no intent on purchasing it could mean another person's title doesn't see release because I and enough others just threw votes randomly at titles we have no intent on purchasing and in that case no one is happy. Scream is stuck with titles that don't sell, and collectors don't get what they want be because people voted just because they could. I myself need to do more research, but much like certain standardized tests, randomly guessing could end up causing more harm then good.

Well obviously those unfamiliar with some of the movies could do some very simple research online, such as IMDB, and other sites that review the films. But votes do help collectors. And whats wrong with just helping a fellow collector out ? Nothing at all. No vote should be considered meaningless to a collector. Only voting for one title when you have 5 to pick from to me is meaningless. Even if you dont know a film, just the fact that you picked something will help a collector. Of course some fans will be disappointed if their own picks didnt win, but you know what - who's to say Shout wouldnt release most or all of them anyway; if there are plenty of votes for the titles, Shout might just release more than the highest voted titles. Voting for titles despite not being intimate with them, at least to me a very unselfish act. Even if you dont buy the movie, you are helping a collector get a title off his or her wishlist.

I think SF will release all of those listed eventually, one way or another.

I bet they will too... I think the poll is to gather info on popularity---and then decide which ones merit solo releases versus double features...

Anybody know who owns Josh Becker's Lunatics: a Love Story? I don't think it has even seen an official DVD release anywhere, though IIRC the director sold a DVD-R of it from his own website (so maybe he has the rights)?

Would love to see a Scream/ Shout release of this. It's such a weird little movie.

Today (9/18) is the 4 year anniversary of the first two Scream Factory releases, Halloween II & III!

Currently Scream Factory has 216 releases with a total 246 announced. Which averages about 1 release per week for 4 years (208 weeks).

I understand the sentiment, but people should only vote for titles they intend to buy. Votes that won't reflect prospective sales mean nothing to Scream Factory and could cause our preferred titles to fall out of the top five. Maybe the bottom ten will still get released to Blu-Ray, but maybe they won't. We certainly don't want any of the top five titles to under-perform upon release because it could cause Scream Factory to think twice before releasing any of the other ten titles from this list.

Has anyone received Carrie and/or The Thing yet? Last week they told me they would be shipping this week but I've yet to receive any notice from them.

Scalpers are already selling unopened mailers of the deluxe editions in the trade forum, so yes, they've been shipped out. I would imagine standard editions will be arriving shortly.

If I remember correctly, Shout! Factory did not have access to any film elements when they released Grotesque.
