As for the announcement :
I agree 10,000 Limited! That is a lot. Not with those artwork options. Poster Art I would have splurged but wow 10,000!

These are going to be around for a while.

No interest in this at all, I already have all of these on Blu-ray from Scream Factory, not double dipping for new packaging.

Hopefully they will announce some new titles today as well, seeing as they've set release dates for everything announced with Vicious Lips and the Teen Wolf movies set for August.

Apparently these will be on Amazon as well, but without the litho. But they will likely be cheaper.

Too bad I already have all of these SF titles. 'Thanks to the fans for all your support and to celebrate 5 years, our first in-house double dip titles for you to buy at inflated prices!'

Not a fan of the art, think they'd have been better off going with the original poster art or the previous Scream artwork. Can't say I'm interested in any case. More re-releases to potentially fill out the schedule each month doesn't fill me with much hope for the future of the line. Hopefully they're few and far between (though if they're successful, I only see more on the horizon)
Well done SF! I asked about this a few years back, glad they are finally getting into the steelbook market!

I, for one, can't wait to see how many pages of complaints about broke steels because of Amazon's bubble mailers.

Wow, a total of 30,000 units. That's... incredibly optimistic for today's market.

Then again, I believe these Carpenter titles were all near the top of that "best sellers" list they posted a couple months ago, so I've got to believe they know what they're doing with those production numbers.

I guess I am in the minority, in that I like all three covers.

I own all three movies and I don't know if I like them $27.99 USD + shipping to Canada + Exchange rate enough but if I didn't own them I'd probably have got these.

So these steelbooks will be the same old transfers? If so Scream Factory really missed the boat. I would buy them all if they were remastered.

Great for Steelbook collectors, but a pass for me. Own them already, and still don't plan on upgrading my MGM EFNY.

I just bought Escape from L.A., so the Escape from New York steelbook is perfect for me.

Like everyone else, I'm not interested, and I agree, 10,000 is a lot! I'll stick with the original slipcovered versions with new, and more importantly original artwork. That being said, I don't mind the artwork. They really should have took this opportunity to jump into the 4K market, or at the least given They Live or Escape from NY new masters, since I remember Cliff saying on a podcast that he wishes he had the chance to go back and remaster some of their big titles in proper 4K transfers. I believe Escape from NY was even mentioned.

I love Screw Factory, and have a large chunk of their collection, but is it just me, or has Scream Factory really run out of steam? It seems like as of late they have had the least intersting announcements, and have been announcing a lot of titles that back in the day would have been a $20 double feature, such as Robocop 2 and 3, the Hercules films, etc. as solo releases, or in the case of the Robocop films as Special Editions!

I wonder if they blew their load too quickly, and rushed out some solid titles as double features, like Tales from the Crypt, Vault of Terror, etc. that may have worked better now as solo Special Editions. Mind you, they probably wouldn't have been able to get them all now in the current market where there is so much competition and everyone is fighting over the same titles.

Hopefully they can make a deal with Sony or Paramount and get back to leading the market, as a Special Edition of The Lawnmower Man just isn't cutting it!

Yeah...Cool idea but save it as an option for stuff that hasn't been released already. Maybe sell just the cases for collectors? I assume a lot of current owners (like myself) won't be double dipping on these.

Finally! A Scream Factory announcement I couldn't have less interest in! Money I don't have to spend.

I'm happy for the people that want these, but that's it for 5 years? I remember a few years back there was a survey trying to guage interest in steelbook re-releases, but nothing came of it.

I pre-ordered the upcoming Scream Factory release of The Evictors, although I've got a perfectly good DVD of the movie that came with Scream Factory's The Town that Dreaded Sundown a few years ago. I'm a sucker, but, well, it's a pretty cool movie.

That's crazy they're doing 10,000 each. I personally dislike steelbooks and avoid buying them.

IMO they would probably need to add new features or create new transfers to entice a good portion of people to rebuy them. 10,000 is a lot for re-releases of editions already out there.

Yeah 10k print for each is pretty bold. Not sure what the minimum scanavo has for a purchase order, but I've seen the number 3k thrown around a bit. Keeping the number down also entices folks to buy just for the easier chance of a sell through. Kind of hard to gauge, but assuming the 3k number is a starting minimum, I might have gone 3k for The Fog and They Live and maybe 5k for EFNY.
I wonder what the print run was on Tansformers The Movie SB? Maybe that is being used a baseline?
Either way this is great news for me. Couldn't place my order fast enough!

I feel like these titles would be able to sell 10,000 units each if they had never been printed before, but I am surprised that Shout is that optimistic about their chances after having been readily available for so long.

Dear Scream Factory,

We don't need steelbooks.

We need this:

Sincerely,
