I have not had a chance to watch any of these, because I'm still on Season Two of the Twin Peaks box set right now, but cheers to Shout Factory for getting them to me so quickly.

The Paul Naschy Collection is beautifully packaged, with a multi-disc Amaray case inside a slipbox with a booklet.
I look forward to your thoughts on the Naschy collection. I haven't seen any of his films but lots of people on here seem to be big fans. That seems like it might be a good place to start.

The only Naschy film that I've seen is Count Dracula's Great Love, which is available from Vinegar Syndrome. If that film is any indication, then the titles in this box set should be a treat. Atmospheric European settings, gorgeous women, and solid horror moments.

The VS release didn't make the cut during the sale but most likely during the black friday sale this year.

Default Paul Naschy Collection

I received the Paul Naschy Collection on Thursday and gave the discs a whirl. Night of the Werewolf and Vengeance of the Zombies are good improvements over the BCI Blu Ray set. The BCI HD seemed to have a layer of "haze" on them which is now gone. Compared to the BCI DVD's the full HD looks better. The DVD's were great and this set is pretty much the DVD's minus the introductions, but with full HD. The difference to the DVD's is major, but still noticable. This set uses those same masters, so no new scans here.

The set is a good way to see these films with original Spanish or English dub and in HD. Given the price on Amazon, an easy purchase. As stated above, the package is lovely - similar to the Vincent Price collectioms. I'll listen to the new commentaries soon.

Wow, that is a great price on Naschy. I just ordered it from Walmart since I don't have Prime and because the price is the same (with in-store pickup) anyway.

at $45, the Naschy set is an absolute steal and i cannot recommend it enough to anyone and everyone. i ordered it direct and paid a few bucks more, but that was worth it as well. don't sleep on this set.

Here are some comparison shots from the BCI Blu Rays (not DVDs) of Night of the Werewolf and Vengeance of the Zombies and Scream Factory's new release. BCI is first, Scream Factory is second.

This question may sound completely silly since I'm a big Cronenberg fan but is Rabid worth a blind buy for solid replay value? I've never seen it which is silly in itself being a big Cronenberg fan.....and Marilyn Chambers fan

Have you seen "Shivers" and/or "The Brood"? It's in the same "early Cronenberg" mold as those two.

I've seen The Brood but its been a very long time and I remember thinking it was ok. I should give it another go though. I really want to see Shivers as well

I think if you are a big Cronenberg fan then you should own Rabid and Shivers. I like all of his films and often revisit them, I find the early films extremely fascinating.

why are these dropping so fast? Not complaining, just wondering. Even the FARGO steelbook is at $13 bucks!

I think early Cronenberg titles are genuine horror classics--- Shivers, The Brood, Rabid, Scanners, etc.

RABID is a great movie... it has an epic scope on a shoestring budget which adds to how impressive the flick is. I highly recommend it!

I gotta go with Eastern Promises. It's not horror or Scream Factory related, but still.
