I just finished watching my Scream Factory Blu-ray of Dead Ringers.

Today's viewing was my second time seeing the film, and, although almost 30 years have gone by and I'm quite jaded, I was still not quite ready for the unique horrors of the story. I do think that it's a remarkable and brilliant movie, though. Upon researching the film now, I am surprised to find that it is loosely inspired by the true story of twin brothers and renowned gynecologists, Stewart and Cyril Marcus, who were found dead in their apartment in 1975, amid debris and trash, after suffering from barbiturate withdrawal.

If you can find it, read the book Twins by Bari Wood. It's even more insane than the film.

Well, I just received duplicates of the second half of my order from the sale (Day of the Dead, They Live). This seems similar to the double fulfillment that was reported for several Twilight Time orders recently. I've contacted Shout customer service, but figured others may end up in the same situation, so if I can share the feedback I receive when it comes.

Still waiting on backorders from my second order, as these were from my first. Someone really messed up the backorder situation on this sale. Hopefully Scream doesn't get discouraged by this and go back to the crappy sales we were used to before. My remaining backorder items are:

Interesting to see this continue to affect different labels. My own Twilight Time order was duplicated recently, and it's been affecting the Sinbad Trilogy release from Powerhouse. I had wondered why severally my BDs had yet to ship from Shout Factory since their last sale and now assume this is probably why. Can Technicolor be behind all this?

Most likely. Sounds like an issue with their software... I wonder if they've updated recently.

They can't charge you a 2nd time for things you've only ordered once. Basically if mail comes to your house addressed to you it yours. The right thing to do would be to return them but no one is under any obligation financial other wise to do so. Maybe they would ban people from ordering from them again but I doubt that happens especially if it happened to a lot of people.

Obviously they're not going to charge anyone for their duplicates; that would be crazy. But it would also be very skeevy to just sell them for profit without at least making an attempt to return them.

Twilight Time's recent email newsletter stated that they are moving their inventory to a new facility, Technicolor will still handle and in process orders, but they said while they move inventory you won't be able to order for a couple weeks, you can still pre-order the July titles though.

I wonder if Scream is using Technicolor as well, since both had the duplicate order issue?
