It is with Paramount. Kino had a deal with them (primarily for titles not released on DVD by Paramount), and evidently The Keep was initially part of that.

I just didn't want to see that info buried in the Raw Head Rex thread where folks may not see it which was why I posted here. |

The fact that Kino got as far as preparing to scan the OCN tells me Mann had nothing to do with putting the kibosh on the release. if Mann is so intent on preventing a release he would've stopped the project from the very beginning. Maybe it was a last minute source material problem.

1 - Mann publicly said in an interview that he was not blocking the release, but had been disappointed after a multi-year search could find no trace of the missing footage that he wanted to use to craft some sort of director's cut. 2 - In the UK, somebody is making one of those fan-made making of documentaries about "The Keep". Without any apparent knowledge of Mann's interview, the filmmakers publicly claimed to have seen the lost footage. 3 - Kino's license to "The Keep" (theatrical cut) was abruptly rescinded. Call me an absurd optimist if you will, but the most logical way I can see to connect those three things is that Mann is willing to do a director's cut and Paramount is now able to give him that chance. |

This could be absolutely nothing but I thought it might be worth mentioning. I purchased Silver Bullet on amazon instant video a while back (I know I know but I couldn't wait any longer) and the artwork for it was the dvd cover but I noticed last night that the cover art changed. The same thing happened with Juice when Paramount released it recently. Not sure if this means a blu ray might be on the horizon. I just thought that was strange due to both being Paramount titles and it was the first thing that popped in my mind when I noticed the artwork had changed. Hopefully that means Paramount will be releasing it. Again though it could also be absolutely nothing. I haven't noticed this with any other films on amazon instant video though and with both Silver Bullet and Juice being Paramount titles it definitely has me curious.

Earlier today, I watched my Scream Factory Blu-ray of Teen Wolf.
![]() Michael J. Fox plays Scott, an average high school student who plays for a losing basketball team and who keeps striking out in his attempts to catch the attention of a beautiful blonde, played by Lorie Griffin. Scott begins to experience uncanny changes, however, and, before long, he realizes that he is becoming a werewolf. Instead of roaming the night and killing massive amounts of people in gory ways like normal werewolves are supposed to do, Scott uses his newfound werewolf identity to his advantage by leading the basketball team to championship success, by capitalizing on his sudden popularity, by earning the affection of the blonde girl, and, most importantly, by learning some long overdue life lessons. Can Scott earn the respect of his classmates without using his werewolf persona? Will he come to his senses and realize that that his best friend, Boof, played by the gorgeous Susan Ursitti, is actually much more beautiful than the shallow blonde, and that she has been the right girl for him all along? Teen Wolf was filmed before Back to the Future, but the powers that be wisely decided to release it after Back to the Future in order to capitalize on the success of that vastly superior film. I won't go so far as to say that Teen Wolf is a great film, but it is a great deal of fun, especially through the rose-tinted lenses of my nostalgia for the 1980s. I'm at a loss to explain why Michael J. Fox's character lusts for the blonde girl, Pamela, instead of going after Boof (Susan Ursitti) from the beginning, since Ursitti was clearly stunning in all regards. I guess that we were all sort of oblivious back in high school. I know that I was. This Scream Factory Blu-ray looks and sounds incredible. It's a near-perfect presentation of the movie from a technical standpoint, to my eyes at least. I love the new two-hour-plus documentary about the film's creation, and I love the interviews with Susan Ursitti and company. My mind was wondering somewhat during the duration, but I still had a blast following everything. Highly recommended! |

Watched Slither for the first time last night. What a fun movie. Honestly, it started off a little slow and I was only mildly interested. Once it picks up it's quite the fun ride. I've read some reviews that says it has some good scares, but it didn't really have that effect on me. It definitely had some gross moments, some great effects and it was all around good fun. I thought the picture looked great and SF did a good job with this one. Looked clean throughout, and while I don't analyze to the degree of some people around here, nothing looked blatantly bad to me.

I'll probably spring for the Blu-ray at some point, just because I'd even pay to watch Elizabeth Banks in a dog food commercial if I had to, but there are a great many other new and upcoming Scream titles that take precedence. |
