As for the other scenes you mentioned, especially Salva "salivating" behind Casey at the circus, feels like a little bit of projection. Sorry.
I haven't seen the movie in a while but you can't cut any of those scenes out because they all include dialogue. I don't want anything from the film missing. Its easy to fast forward or skip any parts people don't want to see.

Like I said in the other thread, those are the only scenes that bother me when I watch it and as they add nothing to the story I certainly wouldn't miss them.
But those scenes have always been in the film and I still watch it, so it's not a big deal either.

Idk but I can't say I'm shocked. The mods on this site are a bunch of dictators anyways.

More likely some members were consistently reporting a thread and it was more work than it was worth for the mods.

That seems about right. I was pretty active in the thread and there was nothing particularly alarming going on that called for immediate mod action.
I'd create another but I'm afraid I'll get a permanent ban.

All these losers doing nothing but demanding the destruction of a movie they'll never see or buy are pathetic.

All of his movies have that kind of stuff.

I just watched Manhunter for the first time and absolutely loved it. Has anyone ordered it from Amazon any time recently and gotten a slipcover?

At this point, what are the chances of Scream Factory working out a deal with Paramount? Do you think this is still a possibility? Paramount has a literal gold mine of titles begging for Blu-ray CE's. I know it's the continual Scream Factory topic of conversation, but anyone have any insider information? It's a shame these wonderful Paramount titles are just sinking into obscurity, when Scream Factory could give them the rediscovery they need and deserve.

There’s a chance, but I’m guessing Paramount is asking for too much money.

And if not Paramount, what other studios could Scream Factory potentially option titles from? I know Full Moon has typically done their own, but they have several things still needing Blu-ray releases: Shadowzone, Bad Channels, Arcade, Netherworld, etc. HBO?

A partnership between Full Moon and Scream Factory seems like it would be a good match if it came to fruition. I wouldn't be surprised to see Charles Band release much of his catalog himself through Full Moon as he has been doing only to then license it out to someone so that they can re-release the films. I'm sort of hoping this happens as despite the fact that I own most of the Full Moon catalog on Blu Ray at the moment, I'd still double dip on a few of the films in order to get lossless audio and potentially a better transfer.

Paramount seems possible but unlikely in my mind despite the fact that so many of us have been trying to wish it into existence.

A deal with Sony is unlikely unless Sony changes their policy regarding special features.

Warner Bros doesn't license so that's a no go.

Lionsgate would be interesting but they won't license anything out while the Vestron line exists so this is a no go as well.

Universal deals could continue though I'm not sure how deep that well is.

Fox seems like a no brainer but with the pending Disney merger (assuming it goes through) then that option will likely close up.

With all of these out of the way the most obvious well of material lies with the Corman library. Many of those films fit perfectly with the Scream/Shout collections and there would be a significant amount of material to sort through for years to come. A few years back the Corman library was rumored to be up for sale and that Shout had put in a bid that was allegedly rejected. I haven't heard anything since then so I have no idea as to the status of that collection. My hope though is that if there is little to no interest in the collection as a whole that eventually the various works are sold off in lots (or better yet pieces) so that studios can purchase only the works that they want which would guarantee several blu ray releases.

Outside of the studio/collection route, Scream can always go after independent releases both old and new. There is still room for more modern indie films (I personally would like Chiller Network's "5 States of Fear" despite it's less then great reviews) and of course the countless films from the 60's - 90's that are with the producers now. There's the whole Peter Jackson collection conversation as well as the Dawn of the Dead and Fright Night II ideas as well.

There is still material out there for Scream Factory to work with, even with all the other competing studios vying for titles... the question is going to be are they willing to spend the money to acquire these titles or will they simply let others tackle them and instead focus on 4k or other potential re-releases with new scans or features.

Warner is finally listening to fans with Warner Archive, and I'm happy with their releases and hoping they continue. Never thought we'd see Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, but now that it's announced, I'm hoping Surviving the Game isn't far behind.

I'm not clear if Shout is still releasing Piranha II even though there's an Amazon preorder link on the home page. If they do, that could mean they may have a deal with Sony. There are more than a few Sony titles I'd love to see Shout handle

When that was announced and then rescinded by Shout wasn't the ongoing conversation regarding where Scream Factory obtained the rights for the print that they had? If I remember correctly they have rights from a foreign market holder which would indicate a different cut of the film as I remember things. (I could be off in my recollection though) I think the delay in that title was speculated to be because of a challenge from Sony or another party in regards to the film and whether or not Shout Factory can legally release it in the US. If any part of that is true then I would wager that no deal with Sony exists.
