Anyone with IMDB pro might be able to get further access to what titles could be available. I'll throw out a possible Shout Select property for folks to consider...
Fantastic Four 1994. Could this film finally see an official release? It's absolutely terrible and I can imagine that releasing it might be prevented by fox/disney, but if anyone can do it I'd imagine it'd be Shout Factory (if they now own it). |

At this point, it doesn't seem as if it could do much damage to the franchise.

I believe all of Corman's holdings were merged under the New Horizons banner several years ago. All the titles that were previously licensed by Corman to Shout! Factory, Scorpion and Code Red were licensed through New Horizons, regardless of which production company they were produced by.

Corman's is still the best Fantastic Four movie made so far. I'd buy an official release.

However, New World continued to produce movies after Corman left. Those would not be included. Meet The Applegates was produced long after the sale (1990). My understanding is that Fox acquired all of the post-Corman New World titles. So rights to Applegates would be with Fox. |

Oddly, Lionsgate has it and they've already created an HD master that has aired on Cinemax quite a few times. I think our only chance of a Blu is if they release it as part of the Vestron line, but they seem hesitant to move beyond horror at the moment.

As Dissention mentioned, Meet the Applegates, is apparently with Lionsgate at the moment. Not sure how it found it's way over there, but they've had it since 1999, at least. Quote:

Don't agree at all & that would be the only F4 film I have no desire to ever own. I enjoy the other 3 films to various degrees but there is absolutely nothing good about the Corman film.

I don't entirely dislike the two films by Tim Story, although I hated how they handled Dr. Doom, and Julian McMahon and (especially) Jessica Alba were horribly miscast. But I thought the Corman film, despite its absurdly-low budget, captured the spirit of the comic and characters far better than any of the theatrical films, and that went a long way in making more enjoyable to me than the others.

I actually liked the costume used for the Thing, much more convincing than the crap they've tried with the modern ones. |

Yeah, and I think big stuff like Poltergeist and Elm Street are gonna stay with WB and Elm Street doesn't need a new release; video, audio, and extras are all great for the original Elm Street. I can even argue Poltergeist doesn't need one either, as it has great video and audio. I think this WB deal should be for movies that WB won't pay attention to even via Archive Collection or for filmmakers to make more complete editions of their movies or to get better quality (Creepshow, Thir13en Ghosts (2001), and Gremlins definitely need remasters). I'd rather we get movies that haven't gotten any/got poor treatment first before we redo movies that already have good releases from the studio.
