Guess we can scratch The Kiss off the list of possible Sony titles:

I noticed Jeff posted about this on Instagram recently so I figured it was one they might have had. Sounds like they might be interested if the rights can be tracked down.

no. nonononono. It's HORRIBLE compared to the original. I think it's horrible compared to 3 as well, but I'm one of the biggest champions of 3 that there is. I'm glad it's out there and there's not a gap between 1 and 3 anymore, but man...after watching it last year I'm not going to be one of the buyers. Congrats to everyone who wanted it!

Yeah, I agree. It's fun but very dumbed down and kid friendly with too many cheesy gags.

That's a bummer, I was hoping to see it get released. Guess it's with one of the production companies or with the producer(s). Either way, I really want this on blu since I missed the dvd release.

Well they need to talk with the producers to have it on BD and get the rights.

However, we can confirm today that we will be doing a brand-new HD film transfer and will be correcting the soundtrack issues that were present on the previous DVD release.
Hopefully that new scan is 4K.

Damn August 14th is starting to get expensive. This is an easy purchase despite my thought that this is a poor comparison to the original or 3rd film.

We suspected Brainscan and Return of the Living Dead Part II were all in the works, and here they are. I'm certain we can count on Critters and Deadly Friend being announced in the near future. It would also be nice if Shout Select has Surviving the Game. Just keep the good titles coming!

Yeah, I've always preordered my titles from Shout, but I'm suspecting I'll be getting several from Amazon, where they'll be half the price of what I would pay from SF. Only immediate must-haves will be through Scream Factory, and that's Brainscan, RotLdII, Someone's Watching Me, and maybe a few others. It's starting to get expensive around here, what with Vestron, MVD, Arrow, Severin, 88, 101, and everyone else coming in strong this year. This year is hitting hard.

Deadly Friend would be a blast.. And, for me, a major coup. Bring it!

Surviving the Game would be the bomb for Shout Select, even Ninja Turtles the movie (1990) in a CE from Shout be awesome.

Critters 1 and 2 CEs with a double feature of Critters 3/4 even a boxset for anyone who wants the series even Deadly Friend CE with both cuts be awesome. I'm predicting those are next or maybe announced this month or june or July as i'm willing to bet Critters 1 and 2 CEs might get september or Halloween.

Maybe this month for WB titles we might get Road Warrior CE, Razorback, Creepshow CE, Beetlejuice CE, Demolition Man CE, Cobra CE, Dr Giggles CE, Timecop CE, Twilight Zone the movie CE, Killer Party or whatever or maybe in june or comic con.

Well Scream did some surprises here and there like Land of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead 2004, Silent Night Deadly Night, Misery etc. to finally bringing some never before on BD titles like Tales from the Hood and all.

But with the new WB and Sony deal even Corman deal, the future is brighter.

Maybe this month they might announce yet more Sony, universal, MGM or Corman and WB stuff.

Hey, could this Warner Bros. deal bode well for a new transfer of the Rutger Hauer sci-fi classic Split Second?

The UK blu-ray is serviceable, but I know a better restoration can be done.

Yes Split Second would be nice and be perfect to get rid of my old DVD.

I love Misery with all my heart, it's a great film, but I don't consider it a classic like Carrie, The Exorcist, Psycho, or The Shining. Maybe I just like Carrie too much

Nah, wouldn't say it's right up there with the original, not by a mile. But it's entertaining, def better than part 3.
