Why? There's already a terrific region free edition released by Indicator What could Scream Factory! possibly add to Ghosts of Mars besides a shit encode and a slipcover?

I suspect Warner will eventually put out Curse of Frankenstein and Horror of Dracula themselves, and the two you mention seem like decent bets too.

Good idea, we can use those on BD badly!

With the release schedule being what it is these days, and the way new films are consistently being released every month of the year, the question is less "Why?" but more "Why not?" It's evident that Scream Factory benefits from most re-releases and it's hard to argue that a potential release of a film that already has a blu ray available is somehow preventing the release of another film since as we've seen Scream Factory will with time (and permission) release just about everything they can get their hands on under any distributor. The MGM barrel has been scraped time and time again. We're at a place now where there isn't really any good reason for Scream Factory not to release a particular film if they can. Releases keep chugging along, and competition between releases promotes price flexibility. Having options is always a good thing and while I'd prefer to see some unreleased gems released ahead of re-releases, thanks to the speedy release schedule that isn't really much of an issue any more as there is always next month.

So this was with Sony after all! Coming 25th September:

That will surely be it for September. Pretty stacked month, though the absence of any Warner titles is notable. No doubt this will change in October and beyond.

DAY ONE!

Honestly this is my favorite entry in the franchise, after the original of course...

As terrible as this movie was/is, I'm strangely jovial it's getting the Scream Factory CE treatment. Who knows - maybe I'll get to like it more this time.

Very cool! This one might be a Day One buy. Thus far I've held off of pre-ordering any of the announced titles as I wanted to have a better idea of the entire slate, but now that things are all on the table (I think) I might have to jump on this one and the [REC] Box set. This September/October is shaping up to be one of the best ever.

Commented on the thread dedicated to it, but throwing in my extra 2 cents.

I can't wait to grab this in September, right around my B-day, too. This is an odd little film, while not the greatest, it is definitely held in a high regard in my book. It's oddities left quite the impression on me. I wish they explored more of the "mystery man" in the limo in a follow up film. I was fond of this introduction to the storyline, even if it did take a way a bit form the original's intentions. I viewed it as a sort of "B" timeline.

I've said it before, several times, and I know some people will tire of me, but man, how I hope Scream will use that Warner deal to release Oliver Stone's "The Hand", with Michael Caine. Such an excellent film...

Pumped for TCM4! First saw it on Cinemax when I was a kid and loved it since.

I've only ever seen the US theatrical cut. How much better is the extended cut over the US theatrical cut?

It also looks like Scream Factory is kind of, sort of denying that they have TCM III, at this time.
