I just had the realization that since Scream Factody seemingly has a deal with Warner Bros Freddy’s Nightmares may actually see the light of day at some point.

Yeah, even if they can't find the film elements for the extended edition I'm sure they'll include a SD version.

Nice catch! I do love my alternate cut releases. This is looking like it's shaping up to be a very nice companion to TCM2.

Ordered a copy of Q: The Winged Serpent today as blind buy from Amazon. For $10 & based on the trailer I figured why not.

Q is a great movie, and you can’t go wrong. I love the fact that Scream Factory is putting out these Larry Cohen films.

According to the director Paramount did infact want to release the uncut version of this and looked into it several times but were unable to find the footage.

I don’t think the age of a film really matters that much in the end. It’s more about if the person(s) responsible for storing the trims saved them in the first place and if they labeled them correctly. It can be difficult to find obscure trims for a flop movie in some warehouse with thousands upon thousands of film cans and boxes, especially if it was moved at any point within the last 20 years.

No, it's not. The WB/Paramount distribution deal has been dead for a while now. Paramount reissued it themselves on DVD and BD in September last year.

Nick Knox, the drummer of The Cramps, passed away yesterday at the age of 60.

Their songs were highlights of The Return of the Living Dead and Near Dark.

Oh man that sucks badly, i've been a Cramps fan since i was 5 years old seeing Return of the Living Dead on video and made me a fan of the band, RIP.

And speaking of Return of the Living Dead, did you think SF's version's restoration is quite nice? looks better than my old DVD.

Scream's is the best I have seen and it corrected the frame. One shot especially of the moon with the halo around it that was cropped out in the others, except for the 4:3 of course.

The Scream Factory Blu-ray of The Return of the Living Dead is the best presentation of the movie that I have seen to date. The music is about as close to the original motion picture as we're likely to get, and the visuals come across wonderfully well.
