I guess That’s one of the 8 Joel Robinson said he was doing. Here’s to a great artist!

I’m guessing these are very close

Candyman
The Blob
Night of the Living Dead (1990)
And Creepshow
All seem like good Joel Robinson pieces

Anywayssss, I only hope that this mainstream fare results in some nice, obscure 80s and 90s horror. I have largely no interest in most of the predicted stuff or what’s been announced lately. I’d like to be able to rely on Scream to get unpredictable again. That stuff probably doesn’t sell but I’d like to see something out of left field.

I may get pelted, but I gotta say I am NOT too impressed so far with Shout or Scream with their latest announcements. I truly hope that this is just the calm before the storm. I was pretty excited at "Scream for Help" and "Brain Dead" for September, but otherwise I'm not too excited at all for the '99 "Haunted Hill", "The Wasp Woman", "Dragnet '87", or especially "Iron Mask".

Then again, to be fair, I have been imagining and building up in my own head this impossible wish list that is likely just that.

When they say 'mind blowing' and 'jaw dropping', right away I start imagining "The Devils", "The Haunting of Julia", "Dawn of the Dead" '78, "Martin", "Alligator", "Cruising", "Year of the Dragon", "The Hand", "Forced Vengeance", "Iceman", "Tank", "Blue Collar", "The Border", "Crossroads" (1986).... and it goes on and on and on....

And then what I actually get is "The Man in the Iron Mask" and "House on Haunted Hill" ('99), and the wind left my sails.....

I rather see Criterion handle The Devils.

That title, IMO, is too high profile for Shout and needs Criterion/Arrow/Vinegar Syndrome/Synapse levels of devotion to give the film the proper treatment.

...then again, they did a good job with Exorcist III and Carrie, so I dunno.

Don't forget they did great on It's Alive, Willard, Nightbreed, Of Unknown Origin, Sleepaway Camp, Ninja III and other titles.

And Saturn 3.

...I know Shout has done some great work in the past. I just rather see a more consistently reliable company to give that film the red carpet treatment.

Any word on when preorder links will go up for 'The Evil' and 'Scream For Help' on Amazon? I think they're the only two September releases unavailable for preorder.

I'm with you on movies like "Scream For Help" and "Brainscan" being the type of announcements that I'd love to see more of. Personally, these are the kinds of titles I crave the most (can't wait for The Evil) but I'm actually excited for House On Haunted Hill. I remember enjoying the film when I went to see it. Movies today are mostly crap but stuff like "House of Wax" (remake), Ghost Ship and Thirteen Ghosts (remake) are a lot of fun and since they're studio films the production values are better.

Not sure if "The Devils", "Year of the Dragon", "Tank" or "Blue Collar" would make jaws drop, though. A jaw-dropping title announcement would be something like An Elm Street box set, Dawn of the Dead '78, or anything franchise-y and generally more popular. But, hey, it's all subjective anyway

See thats the thing though, there will always be some that are disappointed. I went through your list and I wouldn't want any of those...maybe The Hand but thats it.

I know some people do want those though. Its good we all have different tastes or otherwise they would only make one kind of movie. Through these announcements we'll just have to take the bad from the good. I love the House on Haunted Hill announcement but thats the first for me in a while from them. Hopefully we'll all get our wants eventually.

Just wanted to point out that Night of the Seagulls appears to be missing from the checklist on page one.

Yeah, I agree. I see so many people here saying the NoES boxset or the original Dawn of the Dead would be "jaw dropping" announcements. Not to me tho. I think Dawn already has a very solid release and I'm pretty satisfied with the existing Nightmare boxset. My favorite Nightmare films already look great in the New Line set and I don't care much about the bad sequels, I just own them because they're part of the set.

Something like Martin or The Hitcher is what I'd consider jaw dropping. To each their own.

Devil's is Criterion material.

The Evil, REC collection, Brainscan, Return of the Living Dead 2, Unborn, Wasp Woman, House on Haunted Hill, Brain Dead, Seventh Sign, Tingler, Strait Jacket, Someone's Watching Me and Lifeforce 4K i'm looking forward to.

Dawn of the Dead is sold out and fetches insane prices online. A new one would be appreciated.

Just curious but has anything that shout has recently released been jaw dropping for you? Were you excited when Hell Night was announced?

Fair enough. Still wouldn't consider it "jaw dropping"
