There hasn't been a single Comic-Con announcement slate that didn't end with disappointment on these boards due to people having unrealistic expectations. There might be one or two announcements that went over well, but the slate as a whole has always lead to far more disappointment than it did excitement. Just look back at the responses here in this thread over the last 5 years.

With that said...

Comic Con 2018 Predictions: (Not what I want, but what I think we'll get)

-The Road Warrior CE
-Beetlejuice CE
-Critters Box set
-NOTLD '90 CE
-Evil Dead '13 CE (2 Disc - Directors cut + Theatrical Cut)
-Something from the Corman Library that won't be Sorority House Massacre 2

(I'd consider this announcement slate above average for comic-con despite the number of double dips.)

I’d love a Beetlejuice CE simply because I never got around to buying the original release, plus it’s bare-bones (cartoons and isolated scores don’t count IMO) and this is a film I’d love to see discussed in interviews.

I think it's Jeff Nelson that was the big fan of Cruising.

The Road Warrior is something of a flagship title for WB, moreso than any of the titles announced thus far. I could actually see WB holding that back, for themselves, for a possible UHD release. It's also a title that could draw interest from Criterion.

I don't see The Road Warrior happening for some reason.

Cruising, however, I think is almost guaranteed to be announced at SDCC unless WB just didn't want to license it out for whatever reason.

Beyond that, I'm not entirely sure. I wouldn't flat out die over a Beetlejuice announcement but I feel like their "jaw dropping" hint was referencing it.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but the Scream/Shout panel is July 20th 7pm Pacific Time.

Those would be nice to see new transfers and if The Thing got a steelbook BD with 4K it would be nice too.

Monday to friday next week we'll get more surprises in store even on the 13th which all of us are predicting Jason Goes to Hell 2-disc CE.

Then the following next week, will be THE BIG ONE!

The thought of replacing existing titles in my Scream Factory collection with upgraded 4K original negative transfer editions breaks my heart, but the ones that have been announced so far are alluring enough for me to bite the hook.

I just hope that I don't end up feeling the need to upgrade every darn one in the future, because that's going to be expensive even for my reckless self.

Since I always sell off the old Blu-rays after I double-dip with better editions, I'm faced with selling off beautiful mint-condition copies of Halloween II, Halloween III, and Lifeforce with the awesome original artwork. I guess that I could keep the lovely slipcovers of my existing discs to place over the upcoming steelbooks and simply sell off the old Blu-rays to the store down the street without the slipcovers, but I'd probably feel somewhat guilty about doing that.

Just because most of the people here get disappointed doesn't mean I'm one of them. Every single SDCC had at least one title I was rooting for. If your predictions come true I'll be very happy with Road Warrior CE and NoTLD'90 CE. And I know many will be thrilled with Beetlejuice and especially the Critters boxset. So hardly a disappointing announcement. But I'm sad for the ones who get disappointed year after year.

I'm at the stage where I keep my movies if they are unique or collectible...
basically Scream Collector's Editions, Criterion, Twilight Time, digi-books, and steelbooks do not get dumped if I upgrade to a newer version. The collector in me still wants them in my library.

As an example I recently upgraded The Dark Knight to 4k but still kept my 2k steelbook.

I'm leaning now to get the steelbooks for both The Howling and Halloween II but I'm keeping my collector's editions with slips....

TCM 4 is the only title from the franchise that hasn't been released on Blu so I believe many fans wanted it for the same reason, to complete their collection.

I'm leaning towards this for my Scream Factory Collector's Editions Blu-rays right now, actually.

...especially since I'll only get pennies on the dollar if I sell them.

Mayhaps I'll just keep my Collector's Editions of Halloween II, Halloween III, and Lifeforce in my bins right next to the upcoming 4K steelbooks.

(My Night of the Demons Collector's Edition did not come with a slipcover, because I bought it way after the fact.)

I'm quite pleased with whats coming, and consider it a strong year for Scream factory. I've started buying Scream titles again after a long dry spell. TBH I think it's a good blend of CE and a few other in between releases. I also think they are still saving a lot of big Titles for next year as well. I'll bet Critter's shows up sometime next year in CE and box set. ANOEL box set could hit Nov-Dec. I do think this will happen. I think Scream will even have 4k remasters for all the films.

I'll be in for these

-In The Mouth Of Madness
-piranha 2
-Mac and Me
-Return Of the living Dead 2
-Exorcist 2
-TCM;TNG (I'm vary happy this is coming)
-House on Haunted Hill (I freaken love this film, seems a bit underrated -around here)
-Trick r Treat (This is a great film, plus I don't have it yet)
-CreepShow (Huge Cult favorite, cannot miss on Halloween)

I'm also happy about the Steel's as well. So long as they keep up the 4k remasters for them, making a video improvement. I'd say bring on a few more before the end of the year. They go on sale on Amazon anyway's, That's what I will do for Night of the demons steel. My only complaint is I wish they had the option for it with out the doll on Screams website. The 60 some dollars is too steep imo.

In for both the Halloween steel's too , I huge fan of H2 & H3. So naturally this is the perfect time for Scream Factory to release them.

Lots of great stuff coming imo, there something for everybody.

I remember reading earlier this year or late last year in the Mad Max High Octane collection thread that a 4K release of all 4 movies was going to come out. I hope it does.

Yea they had some good announcements this past week. Along with others that were announced earlier. From what I've read in here sounds like there's at least one title for every one.
Out of this weeks line up going to get. Creepshow, House on Haunted Hill, and Trick r Treat.
Previous announcements have on order Piranha 2, In the Mouth of Madness, The Evil, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, and from Shout Select City Slickers.
Now just a matter of paying on the bill.
