Thanks for clarifying

They need to release it as a steelbook especially for those who collect the steelbooks

I wonder how much complaining there'd be if they released a steelbook with the same art used for an "exclusive slip cover."

Just look back at the responses here in this thread over the last 5 years.

With that said...

Comic Con 2018 Predictions: (Not what I want, but what I think we'll get)

-The Road Warrior CE
-Beetlejuice CE
-Critters Box set
-NOTLD '90 CE
-Evil Dead '13 CE (2 Disc - Directors cut + Theatrical Cut)
-Something from the Corman Library that won't be Sorority House Massacre 2

(I'd consider this announcement slate above average for comic-con despite the number of double dips.)
Any of those along with that Arnold film from 1999 or the two Stallone movies i mentioned which one was a sci-fi actioner that came 25 years ago and one an action horror thriller from 32 years ago.

Yes, the more money Scream/Shout makes to save up to get Dawn, Martin and Night Flier, the better! it's time to support Shout/Scream to have them do this to raise enough money to get those movies on BD.

I'm sure it will come true like at SDCC or this week or next month or whatever.

It appears so. Once the IFC stuff is announced it's over.

Personally, Creepshow is a big enough title and it's getting a hefty edition but to be completely honest the October lineup still feels paltry. Maybe for Shout the Creepshow box is big enough that they feel it holds the month just fine when taking into account the rest of the lineup. I don't agree. I feel we need at least one more big set. I mean, it's October. October means horror and horror sells big time. Valley Girl, Get Shorty and Man In the Iron Mask are cool but...

Just my two cents

So far - all I'm really excited about from the recent announcements is House on Haunted Hill. I guess one home run is better than none! As long as SF keeps releasing stuff others won't, I can't complain too much - just keep hoping for more.

I am only excited for the "Creepshow" release, TBH. Out of all of October's lineup.

Anyway, hopefully, SDCC will make all of us happy in one way or another.

But I MUST keep my expectations in check.

Why do people often want a Cobra CE but rarely want a Commando CE? Is it because Cobra has a more slasher movie feel to it?

I had the same problem. I have emailed them back because here are the only 2 titles I want but have not heard anything as of yet. I will report back when I hear something.

From a business perspective, this year's October announcements are a lot shrewder than they're getting credit for. They've got themselves set up to generate a lot of revenue with casual/seasonal horror fans and with the collector's market, probably more revenue than they would otherwise generate with almost any other assortment of 5 - 7 "new-to-Blu" titles they have from any of their various licensing deals. Their October announcements have been trending in this direction for a few years now, so it shouldn't be all that surprising, either.

I'm curious though. Looking at their re-releases of the more popular movies. Let's use Mad Max for example (especially given Fury Road's influence). One, I think in general people are moving to more digital formats, netflix, etc. Two, if a non-collector, everyday buyer is at the store and they see a cheap $5 copy, a $20 copy (yes, this particular one is cheaper now), which do you think they're buying? I don't think the casual buyers are buying the same movie for over double the price just because it comes in different packaging. Food for thought.

I agree and it makes sense, but if they really want to seize the moment with the casual shoppers, hopefully they can get some of the bigger titles into Best Buy, Walmart, etc for the Halloween promotions at attractive prices.

That's the oddest aspect about Shout/Scream's current operation imo. If they're trying to capture larger market share with more mainstream palatable releases, it would seem they really need to offer competitive prices. But their standard prices, on their website specifically (even with sales!), are anything but competitive.

October 16th is still empty on their schedule which leads me to think that they'll be announcing something this coming Friday the 13th...
