Thumbs up What Does CPOCWIWAK Mean?

Okay, you got me with Starman. I was going to buy the typical Blu version of this, but now I'll wait. Let us know when features are announced.

BTW, one of my CPOCWIWAK favorites.

Quick Question guys

Since I haven't ordered directly from Shout before, how does their shipping work for pre-order titles ?

I'm thinking about placing an order for Candyman, The Urban Legend movies and Trick 'r' treat and since they all have different release dates will Shout hold the shipment until all the movies are available or do they ship them out as they become available ??

Thanks !!!

I just placed a bunch of pre-orders into my cart and the 20% off promotion code works on it, I might want to take advantage of the sale but I don't Shout to hold onto my order till the last item is released.

Would pull the trigger if they would ship out all of my per-orders in separate shipments

With Scream obviously making serious progress with the Sony deal, I thought it was worth revisiting the list of titles in terms of what we've seen so far (I’ve surely omitted a few here, particularly post-2000 ones). Aside from The Tingler and Strait Jacket - which already had DVDs from Mill Creek and then later a Blu in the case of Strait Jacket - I'm pretty sure Scream have yet to announce a Sony title previously released by Mill Creek. MC's arrangement with Sony is obviously peculiar, as that Charles Bronson set confirms, but I'd be quite surprised if Scream could get access to titles Mill Creek have the Blu-ray rights for at least. Right now, these include:

[Show spoiler]
20 Million Miles to Earth
Anaconda
Anatomy
Anatomy 2
Berserk!
Brotherhood of Satan
The Creeping Flesh
The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb
Die! Die! My Darling
The Eyes of Laura Mars
Flatliners
The Gorgon
Happy Birthday To Me
Hollow Man
Hollow Man 2
Hostel
Hostel Part 2
I Know What You Did Last Summer
Identity
It Came from Beneath the Sea
Krull
Maniac
The Messengers
The New Kids
Nightwing
Pulse
The Revenge of Frankenstein
Scream of Fear
Shadow of the Hawk
Silent Rage
Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone
A Study in Terror
Torture Garden
The Two Faces of Dr Jekyll
Vacancy
When a Stranger Calls
(original)
When a Stranger Calls (remake)
Wind Chill

Now I doubt they'd want everything on this list anyway, especially since what they do double-dip on is almost certain to be given the CE treatment. It could pose issues - I Still Know What Did Last Summer does not appear to have been licenced to Mill Creek, but would they release this if they can't get the first? Seems unlikely.

In addition to these are titles which have been licenced to Mill Creek for DVD, but have not yet been released by them on Blu-ray:

[Show spoiler]

The Black Room
The Man They Could Not Hang
The Man With Nine Lives
Before I Hang
The Devil Commands
The Boogie Man Will Get You

Five

Creature with the Atom Brain
The Giant Claw
The Man Who Turned to Stone
The Night The World Exploded

The 27th Day
The H-Man
(US version only - Sony previously released both cuts on DVD)
Valley of the Dragons
12 to the Moon

The Old Dark House (Castle)

The Creatures the World Forgot
Out of the Dark
Relentless

The Breed
She Creature
The Cave
The Hunt for the BTK Killer
Black Water
Vinyan

As for other companies, the announcement of Sleepwalkers suggests that titles previously licenced to Image are in play:

[Show spoiler]
The Collector (can't see Scream re-visiting this)
The Deep (released in 2010, and before that by Sony, but could Scream finally give us the extended version? Only way I see them releasing it)
Johnny Mnemonic (2011 release, could do both versions for a CE)
Apt Pupil (OOP, but I can't see Scream touching this one)
Darkness Falls (2011 release, seems like a good choice)

Next, titles released by Twilight Time, now sold out and not given a pressed release by Sony thereafter, a number of which seem like certainties for Scream:

[Show spoiler]
Body Double
Enemy Mine
Mindwarp
First Men in the Moon
Mysterious Island
Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger
The Golden Voyage of Sinbad

Then there are the simpler options. Firstly titles without a US Blu-ray release (to my knowledge) which do not (yet) appear to have been licenced to Image, Mill Creek or Twilight Time:

[Show spoiler]
Cry of the Werewolf
The Soul of a Monster

The Son of Dr Jekyll
Zombies of Mora Tau
The Werewolf
Curse/Night of the Demon

The Stranglers of Bombay
Terror of the Tongs
These Are the Damned
The Mad Room

The Mind of Mr Soames
Fragment of Fear
The Creatures the World Forgot
A Reflection of Fear
See No Evil
Warlords of Atlantis
Ravagers

Runaway
Cold Steel
The Stranger
Cameron's Closet
Monster High
Hit List
(not sure if this is still with Sony)

Children of the Night
The Dark Backward
Past Midnight
Severed Ties
Hideaway
Mute Witness
The Fan
Solo
Bats

The Forsaken
The Glass House
The Mothman Prophecies
Spider
Vampires: Los Muertos
Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid
Dead Birds
The Forgotten
Boogeyman
The Dark
The Fog
Urban Legends: Bloody Mary
Vampires: The Turning
Devour
The Grudge 2
I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer
The Marsh
Boogeyman 2
Outpost
The Grudge 3

And finally titles previously released on Blu by Sony, and not subsequently licenced out to Image or Mill Creek for Blu-ray (to my knowledge). I've left out Ghostbusters 1+2 and Bram Stoker's Dracula, since there is no way Scream could top the existing releases:

[Show spoiler]
Earth vs. the Flying Saucers
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad
Jason and the Argonauts

Christine
Fright Night
976-Evil
Night of the Living Dead (1990)
Wolf
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Ghosts of Mars
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer
Resident Evil
(+ sequels)
Underworld (+ sequels)
Starship Troopers
Godzilla
(98)
The Grudge
Premonition
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
Quarantine
Prom Night
(2008)
30 Days of Night
Insidious
Hellboy
Secret Window
So I Married An Axe Murderer
Battle in Outer Space
Mothra
Millennium-era Godzilla series
Rebirth of Mothra I-III

"1. 10 TO MIDNIGHT (Collector’s Edition) (1983) – The Charles Bronson exploitation favorite from Cannon Films (and which is really a slasher film in disguise) will be getting an upgrade with an all-new film transfer plus many more newly-created extras. Expected street date: Early 2019."

In for this. Bummed that's it's going to be at least six months before it's out though.

Given their love for John Carpenter I'm pretty sure they'll be announcing CEs of Vampires and Ghosts of Mars eventually. A CE of Body Double seems like a safe bet too.
I'd also put money on I Know/I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Hollow Man, Anaconda, Night of The Living Dead, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Happy Birthday to Me, When a Stranger Calls (original).
Would love a CE of The Mothman Prophecies, such a creepy, eerie film, and William Wyler's The Collector is one of my favorite films ever, but I agree with you, I don't think Scream would go after it.

John Carpenter and Scream Factory go together like Wes Anderson and Criterion.

I really have to get up on the Trick R Treat and Night of the Demons steelbook with Angela figure soon before they end up selling out or come close to it.

This is gonna really sting if the SF release ends up looking alot better than the $30 Twilight Time release I overpaid for.

I guess it's possible Shout or Scream could release some of the titles that Sony sent to Image that are now OOP, like Peggy Sue Got Married (perfect for Shout! Select).

Speaking of Image, does Shout (or anyone other than Image or Arrow) ever work with Lakeshore? Maybe they're our hope of getting a decent Blu-ray for Heathers in the US.

Shout! Factory hasn't licensed any films from Lakeshore, thus far. Kino and Code Red have licensed a few titles from them, each, but they were limited to titles that weren't already licensed to RLJ / Image.

Just catching up on all the crazy activity from the weekend around here! Overall, I'm happy with what they announced. Still plenty more to go but as I said, they can't release everything at once. Need to keep a steady stream of things coming. Surprised that Valentine wasn't included, but now that I think about it more, it would make a lot of sense to either announce it on Valentine's Day or, for release on that day.

Shout's announcements haven't hurt the wallet in a while for me, but this is going to be a bad one. Bold for most happy about and priority buys. A bunch of maybes that will probably translate into buys knowing me:
- Legally Blonde Collection
- Used Cars (maybe)
- Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (maybe)
- Kalifornia (maybe)
- Saturday the 14th (maybe)
- Single White Female
- De Palma's Obsession (maybe)
- 10 to Midnight (maybe)
- Starman
- The Craft
- Sleepwalkers
- Urban Legends (already have the first but want the second)
- Critters Collection
- Candyman
