Was with you until you said Olive. With the infrequency of their releases and the little regard they show for them (with the exception of their moribund Signature line), that company sucks.

A Scream release showered with love is a far better buy than a $20-30 barebones Olive title. The only way to get value on Olive releases is to take advantage of DD's seldom BOGO sales.

RE: the cover to TCM:NG....I don't care if it's a picture of Leatherface's leg sticking out of the dress and literally nothing else. I just want this in my collection! Obviously with the best quality possible, followed by some solid special features. Cover art is last on the list for me and would never be a deal breaker if it sucked.

I've already bought multiple Scream Factory titles at Best Buy at the $14.99 price point that I never guessed I would have purchased, so clearly that price point is a success with me. Even if I couldn't get it in person offering all the titles at that price a few times a year would have me scrambling to own everything they put out each time a sale would roll along.
Kino has fantastic sales. It's why my KLSC collection is as vast as it is. There's just no reason why Scream shouldn't be doing the same thing. Hell, do it once a year. Kino does several a year. Didn't SF have decent sales in the past? I seem to recall a decent sale around Halloween a few years ago. Or maybe Valentine's Day. Nowadays the sales are a joke.

I'd have to agree that Scream Factory's site sales aren't very good, especially since they don't offer free shipping to Canada even after spending a certain amount $.

I recently placed a pre-order on their site for 5 of the titles that were recently announced and the shipping cost was $27.99.

Wish they were doing more art like the Species artwork; just a cool design significant to the film. We don't need cartoon heads.

$14.99 is now getting to be a familiar sale price while the standard releases just seem to sit at the $20 mark forever (The Car, Dead Of Winter, Virus, etc etc)

That doesn't make much sense to me...
Some current Amazon prices for non-CEs....

The Gate II $22.99
Of Unknown Origin $22.96
Caged Fury $22.99
Full Moon High $22.99
Daughters of Satan $22.98
Night of the Lepus $20.59

Just about all of them released in the past 2 years are $19.99 or higher.

Yep. A big reason why I have most of the ones that came out in the first 2-2.5 years, and very few since. I want to own many of them, but at that price point they fall behind the CEs, many of Arrow's releases, Kino's releases, etc.

edit: Actually I forgot I have a significant number of year 3-4 releases thanks to Hastings going bankrupt around that time

You known, with this Sony deal, I would love it if Scream put the Kingdom Hospital mini-series on Blu-ray.

Yeah, Target has all of those (except for Daughters) at $20.59. So still above $20, but I'm hoping that they'll include online sales as part of the 20% off sale starting Sunday. It happened last time.

Doesn't seem like that was the reason the release was delayed. Prob something to do with the extended cut then.

I'd really like to see the Fangoria produced Children of the Night (1991) from the Sony deal as well.

Other points:

- Dracula: Prince of Darkness will have a new 4K restoration from the original negative.

- 'More than a few' Hammer films coming in 2019. I think Jeff might have said 'a lot'. The deal is with Hammer themselves, as people speculated. And they went quiet when The Devil Rides Out was mentioned.

- More NECA figures are 'in the works'

- They'd 'love to get' Valentine

- New scan of Creepshow from the OCN, supervised by the DoP

- Sounds like they might not be taking as many risks on obscure titles in future, as certain releases are falling short of expectations (The Spell was cited as one example, but then, I'd ask how many copies of that film they expected to shift)

- Exorcist 2 will contain two cuts (the 102 minute one being the other), both from new scans

- 'Still trying' for Alligator
Sony has US rights to Candyman while international is Universal since it's from Polygram.

Oh man the new restorations to Creepshow and Dracula Prince of Darkness are gonna be a blast! i can't wait to see them do more Hammer.

Some obscure titles as some that are MIA from DVD or BD need attention.

I'm sure valentine will be announced in October to see the film with the deleted scenes. Maybe Alligator will be announced next month or any month by now! that's one i need to get to get rid of my old DVD since Lionsgate no longer owns the movie.

Some re-issues of BDs that were bareboned and weak PQ with extras and new scans can be good like for example Urban Legend or Starman which i'm expecting to be improvements. And there's some movies that never had BD releases like Critters, House on Haunted Hill etc. are good news.

Here's hoping tuesday for a new announcement for November.

On the podcast Cliff said that Sony lost the rights and they'd reverted to Universal. I think he's in the best position to know these things...

I truly TRULY hope Scream Factory will explore more of the New Line titles (outside of Freddy and Jason, though we want those too), especially Man's Best Friend and Alone In The Dark. It also makes all the sense in the world for Shout Select to raid the many awesome titles New Line has as well.

More New Line would be awesome.

I'm predicting Man's Best Friend or Alone in The Dark are gonna be announced next month.

So Universal financed and produced Candyman but Columbia ended up distributing theatrical and home video from day one? Funny, I never saw any indication that another studio was behind the film. I wonder what else has reverted to Universal

Candyman was a Polygram production. Their titles were distributed by various studios through the years, including Universal, Paramount, Tri-Star and MGM. Universal bought Polygram in the late nineties and I assume Sony only had a certain amount of years with the rights.

I forgot about that one. I don’t think I’ve seen that since in the theater.
