I may throw down $4 to rent it first to decide for myself.

Just checked it out and you aren't kidding. That price seems too good to be true. Makes me wonder if it will be a film only release with no special features. Went ahead and locked in a pre-order for that price.

I have a feeling the price simply got keyed in incorrectly. Shout! Factory has it listed on their site for $22.99 with a $27.99 MSRP and a note that specifies "Extras in progress and will be announced at a later date."

Funhouse is the only Scream release I’ve ever bought and then sold straight away on eBay. I wanted to like it, but found it extremely boring.

I found Funhouse to be a mediocre movie. It's neither really intense nor outrageous fun. I bought the Arrow release when it was some 6 pounds for a fully stacked release (full of extras + booklet + poster) but I never watched the film a second time and didn't feel enthused to see the extras.

I'm a big fan of TCM2, if you want a scale of reference.

I didn't really enjoy Funhouse. It was just okay. Not sure why, but I had high hopes when I watched it and was let down. Maybe because that Goosebumps book at the funhouse was one of my favorites as a kid. Either way, can't say I'd recommend it and I've only watched it once since I bought it.

Count me as another that felt Funhouse was just mediocre. Not the safest blind buy, in my opinion.

The ones posting Funhouse is great are probably ex-imdb members. I once commented that the film wasn't all that, and gave it 4/10. Of course, they snapped and belittled the crap out of me (and any other who didn't agree with the clique). Ahhh, what great times back then lol.

Or some people just happen to like the film.

It's like as if people outside of the internet enjoy this film.

I think it's definitely one of his better efforts, widely misunderstood. It has such a weird, creepy, unsettling atmosphere from start to finish. There's certainly a hefty amount of campiness to the movie, but it's self-aware.

I've showed this to several friends (who don't even consider themselves horror fans) and everybody seemed to like it.

I've always thought it was one of his strongest films. Much better than, say, Eaten Alive.

I liked The Funhouse overall. It is slow and does lack a kill or two, but it does have strong atmosphere. What taints it is the potential to be brilliant. Amazing setting, strong performances, but just needed a bit more menace and slash!

Some people can enjoy a slower paced movie. Especially when it has a great feel, and interesting setting. It's classic Hooper and classic 80's horror. It's also a movie and some people are going to like it, and some people won't, no agenda involved.

This message paid for by the sheep of IMDB.

THE FUNHOUSE has great atmosphere and characters but it takes to long for the kills to start and they aren't impressive. The “final girl” is one the worst offenders at standing in one place screaming when she should be picking up the weapon or running. The mask should have been left in the shadows as its laughable. There are some strong elements for hardcore slasher fans to enjoy but not much for the uninitiated. I wouldn't judge Scream Factory on THE FUNHOUSE. Try THE BURNING.

I remember renting the funhouse from blockbuster in the mid 90s. I loved it & also caught it on cable TV a couple times. I did not use imdb then.

Saturday the 14th up to 27.99 on amazon now so it must have been a mistake. Glad I got the preorder in at the lower price. Feel free to screw up with more Scream titles, Amazon.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the lower-priced preorders are either canceled or adjusted up.

They would be cancelled. They can't be adjusted up without you agreeing to it.

I preordered when it was still $16.99. This smells of mass cancellations for whoever ordered lol
