I also didn’t understand the Extended Interviews being split into two random parts. Why not just have a separate menu for them and give the option to view each interviewee’s extended segment?

My biggest disappointment was their inability to secure Joshua Jackson’s participation. Jared Leto’s absence was expected, seeing as he’s too much of a serious actor now to look back on his time in a ‘90s horror film, but I’m surprised by Jackson’s absence. I wonder if he simply had no interest in participating or he asked for too much money.
It really is great how many of the cast members sat down. Alicia, Rebecca, Loretta, Michael Rosenbaum, and Danielle Harris really aged fantastically. Poor Tara though. I was hoping they would reference the urban legend that Sarah Michelle Gellar had almost played Sasha in the casting "segment" but what a joy it was to watch.

I think the second one is slightly better than the first. It's been a while since I last saw part 2 but as I remember the script at least tries to be more inventive with many cool references (Vertigo, Alien, Twilight Zone, etc). And as a movie buff I like that the film is set in a film school.
On the other hand I find the original pretty bland and predictable, the script is flooded with plot holes and some really embarrasing moments ("How long have you worked here?" "Too damn long" "You know anything about Stanley Hall?" *silence, turns to leave* "Please, we need to know" "Talk to Wexler" *leaves")

I watched both again a few months back & just didn't really enjoy the second one. Not saying the first is some great slasher film but to me personally it's the only one I like & the only one I'd ever want to own.

I'm looking over the upcoming releases on the Shout Factory/Scream Factory page right now. I love how they just sort of sneak stuff past us, and then, when I look at the actual shop page, there's always something new.

What's up with the February Shout Factory title, The Vengeance of She?

At first glance, it looks like a solidly engaging slice of B movie eye candy.

I probably will.

The size of my collection is reaching a point where I really ought to start limiting my purchases to familiar titles that honestly-to-goodnessly rock my face, like The Mole People and The Return of the Vampire, but the offbeat 1960s/1970s B movie blind buys always seem to draw me in with great result.

Scream Factory rant starts at 17:19
Scream Factory is confirmed to still be strong arming small shops and price fixing.

He has to mark up all the Scream titles on his website. He says his in-store (Tampa, FL) prices can still be his normal pricing.

Get the pitchforks ready.

Looks like SF will be going down in flames sooner rather than later; good riddance. I need to look into ordering from Grindhouse Video Tampa. Thanks for sharing.

Ironically, I order SF titles from them on occasion. I got Creepshow and HoHH from them a few weeks ago when everyone was scrambling. They always have items in early, like Diabolik and their prices are very fair. It's too bad this whole Scream thing, as it is also happening to my local record store that usually gets SF items in early. They have had to raise prices (they were a little high anyways) also and them putting out titles early ended. Now there is really no incentive to visit their shop, unless I want a mint LE item. Seems like that is what SF is trying to do to the smaller places. Great way to promote small businesses SF that have been loyal to your brand for years.

22:30 is the point of the story.

TLDR : Scream is forcing him to raise the prices on their titles up to $7 more than what he sells them for or they will tell his distributor to no longer sell him Shout/Scream titles

It's not unless they've colluded with other parties. Below is a cursory look at some of the titles mentioned. Given the recent antics from Amazon with other Studios as well as the recent SF Amazon exclusives, I'm wondering if SF has colluded with Amazon. If so, then they'll be in a world of hurt. Quite frankly he should get an anti-trust lawyer.

However, if SF is requiring him to sell Get Shorty at a MAP of $35.00 then how the hell is Amazon and SF selling this well below that?

Quote:
Creepshow - MAP $35.00
Amazon.com - $35.99
Shoutfactory.com - $34.93
Grindhousevideo.com - $34.99

Starman - MAP $30.00
Amazon.com - $29.99
Shoutfactory.com - $28.43
Grindhousvideo.com - $29.99

Get Shorty - MAP $35.00
Amazon.com - $24.49
Shoutfactory.com - $28.43
Grindhousvideo.com - N/A
Online retailers have gotten around MAP requirements in the past by not "advertising" a price online and only showing the price once a customer adds the item to the cart. This might be a workaround for Grindhouse Video.

Remember those are the newly inflated prices. I paid **Edit** $28 in store for Creepshow.

Thats actually a very good idea.

This video wasn't just dedicated to a rant. He posts weekly videos letting customers know what titles came out and what's coming soon.

It's funny you post that and I remember in his video talking about Creepshow. I paid $30 for it when he first had them and like he says in the video, they are $35 now. As some of you may not know, Best Buy has stopped carrying their titles on their site (BTW, I work for BBY). I looked into what was going on with some people I know at BBY. Plain and simple, SF wanted BBY to sell certain titles for the prices SF told them to sell them for, or they would not sell to them. As far as I know, and this may change soon, but BBY told them simply 'have a nice day.' Hopefully other retailers, which will probably never be Amazon, as SF is a drop in the bucket in their overall sales, so they don't care about the prices, just selection, will drop SF. Maybe after a nice loss of revenue, they will figure it out. IMO, no one understands until you take money out of their pocket. Maybe that;'s what they need to figure it out.

This article does a good job summing up the legal distinction between "price fixing" and "minimum advertised/resale pricing". (Not to say it's not scummy.)

Scream really fell off.
Price BS and the constant disc errors and shitty packing.
Very disappointing as they were one of the reasons I actually got into collecting blus.

I stopped by Grindhouse Video when I was in Tampa this past January to see Chain of Strength. Really cool store. You guys would lose your minds. The owner sold me some Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! publicity 8x10s for a steal. There is also a comic shop and a metal and punk record store in the same plaza.
