As we've established around here, Shout is very arbitrary (and random) about what they release under their "Scream" vs. "Select" lines.

Probably not the right thread, but I'm wondering about William Friedkin's Rampage. I've been listening to The Friedkin Connection and just got done with the section on Rampage. It was originally a Dino De Laurentiis production that was picked up for distribution by Miramax in 1992 some time after De Laurentiis went bankrupt. Does that mean Miramax owns it now? Is there a label that has the rights to Miramax?

I could see this being more of a Shout Select title, but a lot of you have far more knowledge than I do regarding rights and such that I wanted to get this one out into the open haha. It's just crazy that the film never received a US release even on DVD let alone Blu-Ray! Plus there's the 1987 cut and the 1992 cut of this movie with very different endings.

Lionsgate has rights to Miramax titles in NA for home video.

Well...damn. I guess no possible release then for a title like Rampage? Let alone both cuts!

Anyway, my Critters set is on the way. Looking forward to diving into these.

I watched Sleepwalkers with the new commentary, and I really enjoyed it. Worth a listen for those interested. Especially learning that Spielberg visited the set, and that Hook, Sleepwalkers, and Bram Stoker's Dracula were all filming at the same time. To which Madchen Amick said she was cast in Dracula, but fired with all the American cast because the studio was afraid to have Americans do British accents. Interesting I say.

'Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation' Has been delayed again!

Per Scream Factory Email:

Quote:
We are sorry that the news for Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation is much the same as many of our other releases this season. Once again, we are waiting for a shipment to fulfill orders for you. We can confirm that the product is shipping over the holiday weekend to arrive in our processing warehouse early next week. In the meantime, we have missed our early ship date and we are working to get orders to you on or by the December 11 national street date. We sort of feel like we are in a massacre of our own here with no way out. But things are starting to turn around and we hope to be back on solid footing by the end of the year.
Please accept our apologies and this $4 coupon. We will update the product page once this product starts to ship.

Received Candyman today in perfect condition. Now let's hope that Shout did not F*ck this one up too.

Nah, that's just another one of their "not quite able to make the two weeks early promise" emails, so its not really delayed again.

I actually expect to get Next Generation and SNDN Part 2 together with these delays.

Forgot about Urban Legend 2 - that one arrived today too. Haven't gotten home and opened them up yet, but I know what my weekend is looking like!

So I put in an order for Texas Chainsaw 4, Mangler, and the Munchies double feature last week and I went on my account to check the status and for the first 2 titles it says ORDER TAKEN which is fine... but next to Munchies it says ERROR. I was charged for it since I paid via PayPal so it can’t be a billing error. I emailed Scream to ask but who knows how long it’ll take them to get back to me. Anyone else ever see ERROR next to their titles before?

EDIT: They actually got back to me pretty quick. Just said it’s be taken care of today.

Interesting indeed. Did she mention who she was set to play? I can't think of any prominent females in the film besides Mina, Lucy and Dracula's brides.

She did not say, but it appears that Ryder was in from the start, so probably Lucy. I would love to see a version of the film with her in it.

Wow, the Critters box is at $43.47 on Amazon. At about $14 per movie, that’s a great deal. Do my eyes deceive me?

I see it too! My pre-order hasn't been updated to reflect the new price though, so something strange is going on. My order is still showing $51.00 How do I contact Amazon to get a price adjustment on an active pre-order?

Edit: Tried reaching out to Amazon via chat... it didn't exactly go as planned. The chat rep didn't seem to know what I was talking about and claimed to be unable to update my order saying it was from two different stock sources or something like that. Both reflect as coming from Amazon Services so as far as I can tell he was just confused. I ended up cancelling my original order that was locked in at $51 and placing a new order now instead for the new cheaper price. I'd already applied $20 in gift cards to my previous order so moving that over to this new one and this box set is only going to cost me $26 on release day. Woohoo!

Looks like we can thank Walmart for breaking MAP and thus triggering an automatic Amazon price match.

Received my Candyman deluxe and my Urban Legend a couple of days ago. Thankfully, the Candyman posters look to be just fine and put into the tube carefully. The Urban Legend poster looks a little more iffy (as in a little bent/creased even from the top view) but there's no tears so I'm just gonna deal, especially since I laminate my posters anyway. The movies themselves look to be in good condition aside from some mini tears on the top of both slips here and there. I'm just glad to have gotten the right order and to get the posters, this was my first (and possibly last -- I still want to get Valentine since that's a fave of mine so that may be my official last) direct order from Shout/Scream Factory.

Also, happy early turkey day to everyone in this thread.

Wow Critters boxed set was #1 in horror releases. For $48 I figured why not? Never watched them hope they are good.

The first 2 are good. It’s all downhill from there.

How have you not seen these? (Maybe they were before your time.) You're such a big Scream supporter I would've thought you'd be pretty well-versed in a lot of their genre output. Regardless, I hope you enjoy them!
