I doubt that'll happen now that the complete set has been released
I wouldn't write it off just yet. Scream did get the rights for Child's Play after the first complete set came out (prior to Cult of Chucky and the second complete set). It'll all depend, as it always does, on whether Universal feels up to licensing them out or not.

I'll give James Wan a pass. I'm not a Saw fan, but the first Insidious and The Conjuring were both solid.

After 2 complete collection box sets and a run of individual releases I'm not sure they could milk any more money out of the franchise unless they license them out so hopefully that means we'll finally see these materialize in 2019.

Perhaps Scream also have Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932)? We know Kino don't have it, and it wouldn't fit into a Lugosi/Karloff set after all.

That would be a 3 movie set. Karloff and Lugosi only made a handful of movies together.

yeah, they certainly could make a Karloff set or 2, as well as release the Lon Chaney Inner Sanctum series....

Hope sales are good so they go for all of this great stuff!!

I know Kino has some Universal Karloff stuff, this set explains why they don't have any Lugosi.

There are some Columbia/Tri-Star stuff they could get for Karloff. Or if they could get Targets, I would be so excited.

Of no interest to anyone but me and maybe six other people -- my brother-in-law was Kevin Bacon's stand-in on Death Sentence. They all got to be friends, so it's kind of funny to look at my wife's old Facebook pictures from before we'd ever even met and seeing comments from James Wan.

I'd love to see TARGETS get a release, unfortunately I believe it's with Paramount.

The licensing deal with Sony giving us Karloff in THE DEVIL COMMANDS or THE BLACK ROOM would be great, and the licensing deal with Warners giving us Karloff in THE WALKING DEAD would be terrific as well...

Kino doesn't have it? Did they confirm that?

With all of these Universal titles being announced, I wonder if maybe a This Island Earth announcement may be coming up.

Unless they're hoping to make another Chucky film (separate from the upcoming remake, of course), so they can do ANOTHER complete set.

Problem Child 1 & 2 yes please. The Cell already has a solid Blu release, beetlejuice I guess it depends on the features with Burton and cast interviews.

Kicking myself for being asleep when The Green Inferno was announced. I'm a huge fan of Eli Roth, and I really would've loved the autographed copy. Guess I'll wait and see if someone sells theirs on eBay (hopefully not for an arm and a leg)

His signature does not go for that much, even with legitimate authentication like Beckett or PSA you can get signed photos for less than $50. Seeing how this sold out in a day, hopefully this will be a new reason to buy from Shout, limited signed slipcovers/posters from directors.

Universal's with Bela Lugosi in Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932), The Phantom Creeps (1939 serial), The Black Cat (1941 comedy with same title as '34 film), Night Monster (1942) and maybe even the non-horror Postal Inspector (1936)
plus the Karloff & Lugosi cameo in The Gift of Gab (1934)

If SF is going for newer Universal titles, I'd rather they go with The Thing prequel to sort of complete the licensing that they have with the 82 film. The current blu is VC-1(odd considering its a 2011 film) and it looks DNR'd.

Awesome, great to hear. Fingers crossed then that I can get lucky! I also hope that Shout opts to get more directors to sign slipcovers and/or posters for their releases.

I'm hoping that this is the start of a beautiful collaboration with Eli Roth. I would LOVE to get a collector's edition of Hostel: Part II. I would slap that poster on my wall so fast. The original Cabin Fever would be nice too!

Also, whoever has been designing all of Scream's latest releases has been doing a bomb job (Valentine, The Green Inferno, and Urban Legend are some of my latest favorites art wise). I like it a lot better than their older release art.
