I liked Silent Hill, thought it was a decent video game film. I didn't even mind the sequel, but that said I've got both on Blu-ray already and I don't lone these films enough to shell out $28 bucks to get this new release.

No new transfer = not buying it. My Metropolitan release is holding up just fine.

Anyway, since July is supposedly a bigger month than January thru may.. think we will get another collectors edition for july?

They did say they have more to announce up til Friday... cant imagine it's just the two ifc films left. .
Don't forget the second Universal Horror collection. We'll be lucky to get another title on top of that.

Last week they said it would be announced next month, by which they presumably meant among July's announcements. But it's possible they meant it would be announced at the very end of April, so for August. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

I remember there was a leak a few months back about upcoming Scream Factory titles and Silent Hill was on there. I wish I could remember the rest.

I have a vague memory of this as well, but from a bit further back. I wanna say it included Creepshow, but also included the Night of the Living Dead remake and Fright Night, which Sony have released themselves.

I could be wrong though about those two in that alleged leak.

it's hard to be mad at them over the pricing when they keep announcing releases I want like every month.

Sawyer, a college senior played by Hermione Corfield, is on her way to a job interview in Washington, D.C. when her phone GPS takes her off of a congested freeway to the rural backroads of Kentucky, where she is led to a “Road Closed” sign. When she stops to look at a paper road map, two unkempt local hunters pull over next to her in their truck, initially offer assistance, and then grope her while trying to block her from entering her vehicle. Sawyer quickly neutralizes the two men with her adept self-defense skills, but suffers a deep knife wound in her leg during the scuffle. She flees on foot into the wilderness and manages to outdistance her pursuers, but soon finds herself at the mercy of the elements while quickly losing blood from her injury. After sleeping overnight in the cold forest and limping until she collapses from exhaustion, she is rescued by a stranger and taken to his remote trailer, only to realize that she may not be in safe hands.

Rust Creek, a minimalist survival thriller directed by Jen McGowan (Kelly & Cal), premiered at several independent cinema festivals in 2018 before being released by IFC Films in January of this year. The events described in my above paragraph all take place during the first third of the story, which kicks off like a retread of Wrong Turn, I Spit on Your Grave, The Last House on the Left, or countless hillbilly exploitation horror movies before leading us into refreshingly unexpected terrain without losing any of its nail-biting suspense. The mostly female filmmakers, including McGowan, screenwriter Julie Lipson, and cinematographer Michelle Lawler, have some interesting tricks up their sleeves here, and the end result is a well-paced journey complete with backwoods mayhem, uneasy alliances, betrayals, murders, and inspiring resilience.

Most of you know Hermione Corfield from her brief appearance as an A-Wing pilot in Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) and from a supporting role in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015). This English actress is superbly convincing with her Southern accent in this film, and she hits all of the right notes as a sharp and resourceful protagonist. Micah Hauptman (Everest) is terrifically menacing as one of Sawyer's attackers. Sean O'Bryan (Olympus Has Fallen) appears as a county sheriff who takes up the missing persons case for our endangered lead, while Jay Paulson (Mad Men) plays the stranger who may or may not be coming to Sawyer's aid.

I love movies about bad things that happen to people in the woods, and I am pleased to recommend Rust Creek as a crafty cat-and-mouse narrative that transcends its seemingly one-note premise with some fascinating character-driven side roads. This is not a horror film, even though it seems like one at first, but my heart skipped a few beats while I watched the events play out on the screen.

As with the other IFC Midnight releases that I have seen on the Scream Factory label, this one delivers a presentation that is beyond reproach, along with some engaging interviews and behind-the-scenes features.

I didn't get around to getting the previous release of Silent Hill, so I'll probably get this one if it's $25 or less. Don't usually care too much about cover art because it sits on a shelf, but I have to admit, it's pretty awesome for this one.

It's a Collector's Edition so probably around $28.

Scream/Shout's site is showing $25.99 with the poster. So....probably a few bucks cheaper once the posters are gone?

It's a very safe bet to assume Pacific Heights will come from Sony in a couple months at the latest...

Had a feeling Silent Hill was coming. I paid $4 for the Blu-ray I have now, and it's in no way a favorite. Upgrade chance: 0%. But if they can get Roger Avary for supplements, maybe they can get Killing Zoe rights. Be hard to top that French release, though...

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to look around before Silent Hill comes out to see if I can find an old copy hanging around anywhere for cheap because I don't really need a collector's edition if I can get something cheaper. If I can't find anything then I'll get this if the price is right.

On another note, I really had a good feeling about Cry Wolf this time around

Hope so. Never seen the film, but have heard a lot of good things about it. I'd buy it in a second.

Surprised Sony hasn't released the Missing, Panic Room, or Bugsy yet. Hopefully soon.
