My biggest disappointment last year was Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III getting released by WAC and not by Scream Factory as a Collector's Edition. Even though I am so happy its finally on Blu-ray as the Unrated cut, I was just always hoping it would have found its home at Scream Factory with a slipcover with GORGEOUS artwork!

I know....First World Problems!

Three O Clock High redeemed them for me, was waiting on to hit bluray forever.

Yeah, that's the one. I wouldn't call it horror really, more of an adventure/drama/thriller. It had a couple "scary" and dark parts, but I wouldn't put it in the horror bucket. Definitely more of a Shout title. Doubt you'd get Leo or the director (Danny Boyle) in for any interviews, but the big thing would be actually getting a first time release on blu in NA.

Three O'Clock High was a good release. Like Someone To Watch Over Me, they occasionally hit one out of the park. But there's a lot of junk, too.

Hardly, there still a lot to fill in the month. Collectors editions are done probably being announced for the month. I'm sure some other stuff will be released, possibly another Universal Set, couple of select titles and a few more regular releases. I have a feeling we'll get at least one to two steelbooks for Oct. If they are done then October is their lightest month in the history of the company. They average 21 to 22 titles a month, so far Oct has 11.

I think you're getting Shout confused with another label.

Shut up. Legally Blonde deserves to be there or with Criterion.

The Shout Select line includes both Bill & Ted flicks, The Burbs, Matinee, The Jerk, Dragnet, ROAD HOUSE, The Street Fight collection, Legally Blonde and numerous others.

FAR from a joke.

If they start re-releasing more standard titles with new 4K scans as Collectors Editions just like they did with Ninja III: The Domination, which titles would you want? Personally I’d love Collector’s Editions of:

Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh
Slumber Party Massacre
Slumber Party Massacre 2
Slumber Party Massacre 3
Piranha 2
Somebody’s Watching Me
Pumpkinhead II

Shout Select got me three Alan Ladd/Veronica Lake noirs. They're okay in my book.

As a rule of thumb I'm really not all that interested in upgrading my only a few year old Scream Factory releases. Since this is a thing now though I do wish that they'd have actually put some effort behind it the way that Blue Underground has and would have put out Definitive editions rather than just the obvious cash grabs.

For starters get rid of the god awful steelbooks. One of the worst aspects of this era of home video has been their continued presence. If they must be utilized then make them an add-on purchase in addition to the standard release. Speaking of the packaging then, Blue Underground (and Arrow) have got it right. Thicker premium style of cases should have been a given. Higher Quality slips/chip board boxes should have been used along with the standard reversible art. CD's/Booklets/posters all should have been included when possible and these should have been presented as the definitive editions of the films they were meant to be. 4k scans, Original Audio + Remixed options, all previous Scream Factory extras, etc. When it warranted it I'd also have liked to have seen multiple transfers/cuts of the film included across multiple discs so that the previous editions could be sold if a person was so inclined.

I don't have a problem with Shout Factory putting out new editions, but I can't stand cash grabs, and everything about these latest re-issues have felt exactly like that when they could have been something much more special.

With all of that said, here's some films that I would consider...

-The Howling
-From Beyond
-Slumber Party Massacre (Box Set)
-Sleepaway Camp (Box Set)
-Pumpkinhead

Small Soldiers
Speaking of jokes, is this one? You think they'd be upping their game by releasing Coneheads on blu-ray?

Joking or not, that'd be an easy day one buy along with every other title on that list. The only Shout Select Titles I own at the moment that I can recall are the Bill & Ted Collection. I'd be happy to pick up all of these though...

Addams Family Values
The Brady Bunch Movie
A Very Brady Sequel
Coneheads

And I'm still waiting on Cloak & Dagger 1981.
