Grabbed The Tingler (Blu-ray) from the sale (I've always wanted to see it), and Garbage Pail Kids (Blu) and Escape To Grizzly Mountain (DVD - the previous release was not OAR) from the OOP pile.

I definitely overpaid for GPK, but I waited too long for this childhood favorite, so them's the breaks. Grizzly is actually cheaper on Amazon, but I needed free shipping.

Edit: Cancelled the order because Grizzly is 4:3 in this release too. Hope cancellation actually works.

Update: Cancellation worked. Will see if I can re-order GPK, Tingler, and something else. Pretty awesome that Shout allows pain-free cancellations. Will definitely motivate me to use them more often.

My copy of Dead of Winter finally shipped!

Now all I'm waiting on is Disturbing Behavior and Carrie / The Rage: Carrie II from MovieMars, and Scarecrows from the 3rd party seller I found on Bonanza. I really hope I don't have to deal with any other cancellations/refunds.

I wish you luck, but MovieMars is one of the worst resellers to expect receiving an item when it goes OOP.

Scream and Indicator are killing me with just their Hammer releases alone.

not a bad week.

ordered the thing from amazon for $10 and change...then grabbed the entity, candy man and vice squad.

bummed the $5 titles were done as soon as i checked the sale. (was there a limit? i checked on list and they were still listed, but i couldn’t add them to my cart)

if it wasn’t for that godzilla set and luigi’s mansion 3, i probably would have gotten more. but i had a decent amount of the titles already. (not double dipping on any steelbook).

I don’t like this company at all. They exploit horror fans. They hold movies hostage. If I want a copy of The Blob, I have to pay $40 for one movie. It’s utterly ridiculous. Companies need to stop leasing their catalog to this company. They are glorified scalpers.

Uh. Ok?

It's definitely only $24.99 on Amazon right now but sure...$40...

I haven't seen this guy on here in a bit, but he definitely has troll like tendencies. I mean, the MSRP for The Blob isn't even $40. Not to mention how many titles routinely drop to between $15-$20 during sales at various sites, including Shout's own.

hmmm, like Criterion? Twilight Time? Kino? Severin?... every independent label?

Don't most of them have high MSRP's that nobody actually pays because of sales and promotions?

Ordered at the Shout Factory sale (I doubt I'll get them before 6 months because I'm having them sent to a friend in the US, but Shout's high prices never seem to fall below 25$ on WowHD or even Amz US):

I feel the same way about Criterion. Just because you don’t like the opinion doesn’t make it “troll tendencies.” I believe that companies like this exploit fan bases like glorified scalpers.

But your opinion wasn't just an opinion. You included misinformation which was immediately proven wrong. You can claim you don't like that they license titles, but every non-studio label does that. Criterion is a top tier company and even they have $20 titles during their frequent sales. Scalpers would charge you full price plus extra. That's not the case here.

Do you want like $5 crummy releases of these films or something?

My thoughts exactly, I even tried to do the benefit of the doubt and see how much it would cost with shipping and taxes to Hawaii without Prime and it was still only around $30. If you want to talk about scalpers, go and look at how much the recent OOP titles are currently selling on Ebay.

Scarecrows shipped from the 3rd party seller I found on Bonanza for $25. Hopefully it arrives without a hitch now. Felt good to get that email!

Has Scarecrows not sold well initially? I remember a lot of people requesting that one before MGM released it on DVD for the first time. I think it was a bit of a holy grail, actually. I love the movie. One of my very best blind buys.
