I sent them an email and just got a response. Apparently Body Bags is whats holding up my order. It was listed as in stock when I placed the order, but they said it's backordered and I'm looking at the week of March 9th, unless I'd like to change my order. So don't know if you ordered Body Bags, but either way probably a similar situation.

Body Bags was indeed part of the order; thanks for checking.

Not a big deal, but try to keep track of your stock when having a sale...

I contacted SF last Friday about my order, and finally got a response back today stating that my order is being delayed because i have some titles that are backordered. Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh, Body Bags, and the Scanners 2/3 double feature.

Here's something I learned about dealing with SF taking too long to ship something: If you've ordered something and it still hasn't shipped after what seems like forever, send them a message and tell them you would like to cancel your order. They won't respond to the message and you'll magically get a shipping confirmation e-mail.

While I’ve never requested to cancel an order, twice I’ve had half of my order ship right away while a few random titles included in the same transaction were held back. When I checked on the site it showed order status as “partial.” I just assumed those titles were currently back ordered even though there was no notification to say so. After two or three weeks with no update, I sent an email asking if there was any ETA and they ended up shipping out the very next day. It’s certainly strange that on two separate occasions backordered titles magically appeared a day after enquiring about them. In all fairness though, I’ve had more orders than not ship in full just a few days after being placed.

I was really impressed with how much I enjoyed "Truth or Dare" a year or two ago when that came out but that film certainly isn't anything special or memorable and yet Jordan Peele's efforts are very much in line with that level of filmmaking despite the heaps of praise he has received. That said, I'm all for more mainstream horror efforts and more directors that carry some name recognition and their own style of filmmaking. Jordan Peele's movies may not exactly strike a cord with me, but I can appreciate the kinds of films he makes for what they are, just like how I can enjoy Rob Zombies films for what they are. In both examples I need to be in the right frame of mind to want to watch their movies, but when I am I usually have a good time.

In regards to the Candyman re-imagining/sequel... From what I have read my guess is that it's going to be quite divisive depending on one's expectations. I actually think the film could turn out to be fairly enjoyable and well received, but the legacy of Candyman will forever be ret-conned and because of that I expect quite a bit of pushback as well.

Spoilers ahead
[Show spoiler]From what I have read thus far, it sounds like Tony Todd has only a blink and you'll miss it cameo to explain that "Candyman" isn't a single man/entity, but rather a sort of hive/colony that encompasses a large number of "Candymen". Apparently if my research is correct, a Bee sting from one of the special Candyman Bee's is how the Candyman Curse/entity spreads and thus in this new film we'll see the introduction of a new Candyman as part of this colony.

My hunch is that folks that found enjoyment in Child's Play 2019 will likely find enjoyment in the new Candyman Film. Those that disliked Child's Play may well have similar complaints regarding the nature of this film. I'm approaching the new film with an open mind and hoping for the best as I love seeing these modern Horror Icons revived but if what I read is true it could easily go poorly if not done correctly.
I think Peele is overrated for sure and Get Out while a good horror film, I would not put it in the same category as the better, what I would call top tier horror films of the 2010s (VVitch, Midsommar, Hereditary would all be up there for me).

To keep my post on topic, my copy of The Blob should be arriving tomorrow. I have never seen it but for some reason I recall seeing a specific scene from a Canadian news program back in the day when someone (I think a woman) had an encounter with
[Show spoiler]the kitchen sink
. This has always stuck with me but I never knew what the movie was until recently when Scream Factory released it and the film showed up on a few best of the 80s horror films lists. Also Kevin Dillon’s hair looks amazing!

The downside to this strategy is if you're doing it solely to get a response or action and you don't really want to cancel, they may actually cancel and you're out of your item. I suppose you can re-order but do you really want to go through that again? Doesn't Shout offer an option to have in-stock items ship as they become available? Even if you have to pay additional shipping it might be worth it just to avoid these hassles.

Question: Anyone had success using 2 separate coupon codes on the Shout Factory webstore? These codes came from a promotion and I'm trying to use them for an order but seems the store only accepts 1 coupon code per order. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately, it’s one coupon per order.

I'm torn about the damage to my Halloween II steelbook and what to do about it. The front face is OK but there are several small dents on the back and it feels like part of the plastic backing inside wants to come off. I'm not super OCD about these things and, like I said, the front of the SB is fine but they shipped this in an envelope so I feel like I should make a fuss just for the principle.

I also ordered The Thing SB for the 4K scan. I popped it in yesterday and watched the film again - I thought the colors looked a little saturated (or boosted, whatever the correct term is). This wasn't necessarily a bad thing but I'm wondering if I have the wrong settings on my Oppo player. The scan is a thing of beauty, needless to say. Can't help but wonder how great this would look on UHD.

I know he only produced Candyman but I’ve always been a fan of the series & have wanted a new one for a while.
I finally watched the new trailer and I am 100% on board with the new film. It may end up letting me down in the end but I really liked what I saw in the trailer and am now quite excited to check this one out.

Really hoping for some Paramount titles that have never had Blu-rays here. Hoping no rereleases of Sony titles or a ton of Hammer films for one month at least.

I haven't received a shipping notification for the Scream February sale. Is that normal?

At least one title in your order is backordered. Your order will ship when stock arrives.

SHOUT FACTORY, I hope that if you have secured the rights to War of the Worlds (1953), and I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958), that you announce them soon. I see people already pre-ordering for the May 27, 2020 Australia release. I myself would much rather place an order for these movies with you ! ! !

If they don't have these, I'm wondering what kind of deal do they really have with Paramount?

Just a heads up there are no Hammer releases in March at all, so in case anyone forgot they did skip a month in regards to Hammer. Personally I'm hoping for at least a couple Hammer films for June.

Probably even more limited than their Warner deal. WB probably wants to release more of their own stuff via the Archive line, which would explain the limited nature of their deal with Shout. If we don't start seeing more Paramount announcements soon then we'll know the deal was super limited (and much smaller than Warner)
