I have learned that an SF customer had an outstanding order for "Poltergeist III" canceled, despite that the fact that this person ordered the disc ten days before the website announced that the title was now (on May 18th) out of print. I also just had my order for "The Squad" canceled, even though I placed my order for it six days before it officially went out of print on the site. Of course, I realize that mistakes can happen, and I know that manufacturing plants will only make a certain number of discs, and no more, for a given movie that is going OOP , but both I and this other customer got our orders in several days before the SF website declared these titles to be out of print. I will not trust SF again by ordering directly from them. If I can't get the particular SF title that I want from literally any other site, then I will simply do without it.
So I paid SF $200 for disk am I just out that money?

Hoping Scream has Targets (1968) on their radar for the SDCC announcements.

As things stand there will be no SDCC announcements, because SDCC is not taking place. There may be an online panel, but Scream haven't confirmed this yet.

Sorry that's what I meant. The rumors that they were going to do their own online panel.

I really hope they do, though we haven't heard much yet. I expect we'd hear something over the next week if they were.

We also due October's announcements before then. Maybe Targets will be among them?

Man, I hope they do a SDCC online panel. It would be nice to know what to expect for the next few months.

I think Targets is with WAC now as they released a DVD-R in 2013. The Paramount DVD appears to be OOP.

That was way back when Warner had temporary distribution rights to a bunch of Paramount catalog titles. All those films, including Targets, are back with Paramount now.

Okay thanks for information. So let's hope SF does have Targets. Extremely doubtful that Paramount Presents would ever release it.

Don’t really care if they do a SDCC panel, or not, just hopeful some nice announcement(s). So much uncertainty these days, never know what’s going to happen going forward with SF. Certainly wish them the best.

If they were going to do a live stream of some sort for SDCC, they would have said so by now, so i really doubt it.

Targets is somewhat of a mixed bag... Not totally, but the comedic bits stop it from being as good as it could be. It has an episodic feel to it.

I'm wondering if SF will be able to get their hands on Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow and do a proper CE!
I never bothered getting the 20th Anniversary Edition that Paramount released because I'd heard the A/V is lacking for such a great film.

Been meaning to see that one still and sorta unfortunate to hear.

Sounds kinda like my feelings on the original THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN. Would be a pretty great, low budget horror flic, but every few scenes it turns into "The Whacky Misadventures of Officer Goofball!" And kills the mood. Still love it, but it could be so much stronger without those moments

It’s worth watching anyway. It feels like it sort of predicted some of the kind of violence we see today.

For most Boris Karloff fans and Peter Bogdanvich fans, Targets (1968) is a must-have film. It was Bogdanovich's directorial debut and Karloff's last American film. (He did film scenes just before his death that were inserted into several low-budget Mexican films that were released after his death in early 1969.)

Roger Corman urged Bondanovich to make this film and, originally, it was to be released by AIP, but Paramount became very interested and bought them out.

In two separate storylines, Karloff plays Orlok (named after Count Orlok in the 1922 film Nosferatu), a retiring horror actor, a reflection of the real life actor's situation. While Tim O'Kelly plays a Vietnam veteran who goes on a shooting spree. It, of course, all comes together at the film's conclusion.

Targets is listed as one of the 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die. It is an important film that deserves a blu-ray release.

Remember a few years ago when people kept making the comment about Scream Factory "Scraping the bottom of the MGM Barrel"

Releasing Sleepy Hollow, in any form, would be the proverbial bottom of the barrel as far as I am concerned. Saying I did not care for that film would be putting things mildly.

Aside from the obvious... (Friday box set, Nightmare box set, Corman properties such as Sorority House Massacre 2) here's a handful of titles that jump to mind that I'd much prefer over them going down the path of Sleepy Hollow.

-Pontypool
-Irreversible
-Feast II & Feast III (Might as well release a trilogy set as the US edition of FEAST was cut)
-Megan is Missing
-Paranormal Activity (Original unreleased Festival cut)
-Necropolis
-Dreamaniac
-Transmutations
-The Company of Wolves

I bought the Steelbook that came out last year because I didn't have it on Blu-ray already. But I'd gladly rebuy it if Scream did a remastered CE. Great film!

Targets is fantastic. The atmosphere of the drive-in theater works wonders for the thrilling third act.
