I happened upon "The Entity" for $24.99 while browsing at FYE last night and immediately snatched it up. The fact that it's so difficult to find online ("Sold Out" on Shout's site, and back in stock on AMZ later this month but at $30) and that it's a Fox title made me not hesitate in getting it, despite being a blind buy.

I asked SF about The Entity being sold out on their site last week, and they confirmed to me that it is NOT OOP and they are just waiting for more stock. Maybe listing it as sold out is in response to the many delays in restocking titles over the last months.

The Fly Collection just had a price drop to $40 on Amazon. It had been that price at Walmart if you can find it in-store, but now it's at an online retailer

Had it, and The Omen set, in my cart and couldn’t resist at that price.

Got the Fly Collection!

$40 and I didn’t have to step into the goblin hole (Wal-Mart) in my town.

I kinda am. Sometimes they either don't really have very big deals, OR it's all titles I either own or don't want...

BUT, between not taking any vacations this Fall, and the horror film festivals I planned to attend now being postponed or moved online (and thus cheaper)...I am looking forward to maybe snagging a few more titles I might not have otherwise.

Just watched Firestarter. I know it's been for a long while. Great PQ, decent extras. I'm curious as many are, if we will ever get a SF of Dead Zone, but what about Cat's Eye or Night Flier?

The Night Flier is a Richard Rubenstein joint, so hold onto the DVD if you've got it. Forever.

Got Carrie, Mad Max, TCM2, Manhunter, and Buckaroo Bonzai this past week. I really, really need to stop slacking on what I perceive to be titles with staying capacity. But with Kino getting Mad Max, I'm sure we'll see the others announced by different boutique labels soon. If not, at least the original releases are around for the bulk of the titles.

Maybe this isn't a big deal... (then again maybe it requires immediate action if interested) but Amazon currently has 10 copies of The Vincent Price Collection Volume 3 in stock for $44. I just went ahead and purchased a copy since the set has been noted as being out of print for a few months now and with my pre-order of the re-release of the first set already in place, I now only need to find volume 2 for a decent price. Folks interested would be wise to jump on the listing.

https://www.amazon.com/Vincent-Price-Collection-III-Blu-ray/dp/B0182YFYJW/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2RA3XCN1XVFJR&dchild=1&keywords=vi ncent+price+collection&qid=1597714896&sprefix=vinc ent+pri%2Caps%2C218&sr=8-2

EDIT: Down to 7 copies. My Honey price tracking app says that this is half the price of what it was going for in the last 30 days.

Considering Paramount recently announced it's inclusion in the Stephen King 5 pack with THE STAND, both PET SEMATARY's (original and remake), and SILVER BULLET, I find it highly doubtful.

Well, Kino's gonna release Mad Max on Blu-Ray and 4K UHD on November 24th:

Wonder if this means we'll see releases of Carrie, Halloween II, and III.

Carrie's 4k OCN scan was most likely done in SDR and finished at 2k. So unless MGM or someone else is willing to pony up cash for HDR work on a 4k UHD/digital release, then Scream's release might be the last nicest one we'll see for a while.

Halloween II and III were most likely done the same way as Carrie, but both are Universal and they have more financial backbone than MGM to do their own HDR work off the same source ala Waterworld. Hardly any Universal owned titles put out by Shout are currently going OOP (save for Phantasm II, which was the case of Universal's video rights expiring and reverting to Don Coscarelli for Well Go's release), so it's hard to say with those two.

it’s out of print, and i couldn’t find anywhere else. were some copies just buried in the amazon warehouse.

When I found the listing last night there were around 12 or so copies in stock. My guess is a box was found in the warehouse as you speculated. Interestingly the listing said more were on the way, but we'll see about that.

Yeah. The listing currently lists it as back "in stock on Aug 28th"....so...they do have an allocation coming then?

I'm torn. For that price and OOP...I am very tempted. Though I've only seen 2 of the movies. DIARY OF A MADMAN and SCREAM OF THE BANSHEE. I enjoyed the former.....not the latter.

I'm tempted as well, but I have never watched any of these before. I already blind-bought Arrow's "Six Gothic Tales" set and I'd never pay scalper prices for the second set so I am not sure if I should even do this.

What do you guys think?
