Hopefully it includes both the theatrical and director's cut on UHD.

If I was to buy a OOP Shout release that later had a replacement disc, and messaged them at the proper email and with the proper information, how likely would it be that they would send replacements?

Sucks getting into the collecting game this late.

I think it would be down to whether they have any replacement discs left or not, so it's worth asking.

This is why I've never bought a used copy of "The Weird Al Show" DVD, because I don't know how to tell if it has the fixed disc or not by eye.

Some insider posted the date online maybe a month ago? It was either August or September for release date, but they could be wrong.

FWIW, about a year I finally got around to watching the bonus disc on my Halloween Deluxe set and it just wouldn't load. It took about a month, but customer service did send me a replacement. I think like others said, it depends on if they happen to have any hanging around the warehouse...

I wish Scream Factory could get "Doppelganger" (1993) starring Drew Barrymore. Really cool horror flick.

Is Target still doing B2G1 sales? When was the last one? I haven't bought a Shout title in about a year and I need to catch up.

They are still a thing. Last one was the beginning of February so we're probably at least a couple months away from the next one. They've been fairly frequent, I think somewhere between 4-6 months apart.

I can't remember. Is the Target sale buy 2 get 1 free or get 1 half off? And is it for just Shout titles or all DVD/Blu-rays in general?

I seem to find out about them after the fact, so I always miss out.

Buy 2 Get 1 Free. Generally it's for most titles though every so often there are some exclusions. Pre-orders are typically not supposed to be included but often are and are the only reason I use the sale myself. When preordering titles with different release dates the total cost is spread out across all three films so instead of seeing regular priced deductions from 2 films on your bank statement you'll see reduced prices but a price nonetheless for all 3 films. I have King Kong 76, He Knows you're Alone, and Eyes of a Stranger on pre-order through the last sale at the moment.

Not me, i have at least 100 titles. There's only a select few i would upgrade if the UHD is done right and not botched like They Live.

I'd definitely be down for more UHD releases. I hope we get at least few more this year.

Anything John Carpenter would be instant buy for me. Some of their older releases would be very welcomed, Night of The Comet, Pumpkin Head, The Howling, Motel Hell, Lord of Illusions, Night Breed, Basically all the Classics.

Hears hoping AOD gets a super duper release, with all three cuts. Pipe dream would be all 4 cuts (the TV cut in) 4k carefully fully restored. Would love to have deleted footage/scenes in 4k as well. It would be a letdown to me if it was only theatrical in 4k. "Now who's with me"

The colors/skin tones were messed up. I didn't notice it while watching the film, but when I watched the trailer immediately after the film there was definitely a big difference, and it was clear which one was more accurate. Not worth getting extremely worked up about, but I definitely wouldn't be upset if they issued a replacement disc.

They did use the StudioCanal scan but the colors are muted/washed out. The included Blu-ray has a new 4K scan that looks great and that will be my go to disc when watching the film. I've also read Prince of Darkness suffers the same fate but i haven't got around to watching my copy yet.

The argument is that color saturation isn't the same between the Studiocanal and Scream Factory releases (perhaps due to mastering in different colorspace?), so I'm not sure what you're suggesting, exactly. If there are indeed differences in color, then Scream is clearly in a position to do something differently.

(I can't speak to any differences myself; I have the Studiocanal They Live and the Scream Prince of Darkness, but not the other way around.)

They're taking the reins with Army of Darkness. They've done a ton of 4K scans themselves, at least some of which we'll hopefully be seeing on UHD BD at some point.

But I also don't see the point in reinventing the wheel. If there's a terrific 4K restoration ready to go, why sink a ton of money into duplicating effort to achieve virtually identical results? It'd obviously be a different story if it were an aging 4K remaster that didn't live up to current standards or if it were somehow deeply flawed, but these Studiocanal presentations were very well-regarded. The primary complaints about those European discs were compression-related, and Scream Factory is doing their own encodes.

Both Criterion and Arrow use scans supplied to them too. A very recent example for Arrow would be their UHD BD of Flash Gordon.
