Scream Factory Blu-ray Discussion Thread

Just got this email from Scream/Shout:

Greetings from Shout! Factory,

We're writing to let you know that, due to a production error, the initial run of Crazy Mama was missing a bonus feature interview with Jonathan Demme and Roger Corman. Customers who have already ordered this Blu-ray will be sent the revised disc as soon as it is available. New orders for this product will resume shipping to arrive on July 20, 2021, with a corrected Blu-ray disc.

In the meantime, please email us at info@shoutfactory.com with your order number and confirm your best shipping address so we know where to send the replacement disc.

We apologize for this oversight and inconvenience. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let us know.

I hate that so many discs need to be replaced right now, however you can put a positive spin on this situation, as well as Arrow and others'. Many people said that there wouldn't be discs around by 2021, so we're pretty fortunate that not only are we getting these releases in the first place, but Shout and Arrow are financially able and willing to replace them on top of first production costs.

I am in no way trying to excuse or justify their quality control or what happened with the Crazy Mama disc. However, if it makes any of you feel better the Jonathan Demme interview is more of a curiosity but not indispensable IMO. It's been a long time since I've seen it, but from what I remember most of the discussion is centered on Silence of The Lambs (which has been covered extensively elsewhere) and Crazy Mama is barely mentioned. I wouldn't consider the interview essential by any means, but YMMV.

Since we got NO Scream titles for August, I do hope they reveal the September ones next Monday. They probably won't, but it would be nice.

Really wasn't expecting Shout to actually skip August completely. Even the Transformers Steelbook just seems to be something they pushed up considering the standard version doesn't come out until September. Hopefully it just means they've got something big in the pipeline for later.

I emailed Shout about the issues playing some of their new releases on Playstation consoles. Hopefully they'll figure that out so it won't happen again.

Wish Scream Factory could/would get the rights to the 1982 TV horror film Don't Go To Sleep. It's very good and atmospheric for a TV movie.

At this point all I want from SF is Alone In the Dark, Deadly Friend and a Nightmare On Elm Street Collection similar to the Friday the 13th set. Maybe a Texas Chainsaw Massacre III without the halo in the middle of the screen lol

My order for the Awakening and Sphinx has shipped. So at least these are going out quickly. The one I'm most hoping ships out way early is Dead Zone. Still waiting on special features on that.
