Any chance we could ever get Mother of Tears (2007)? I know it blows but to at least have the trilogy complete.

I think Paramount might have it, since the US rights were with Dimension Films but who knows. If that is still the case then SF might be able to get it if Paramount does another deal with them!

I didn't think it was that bad. It's no "Suspiria", that's for sure.

But I liked it OK. There were some genuinely disturbing/arresting moments, too. That Udo Kier sequence was great.

I wouldn't mind it turning up on Scream label, either.

I won't be preordering Sbout titles directly anymore and will instead be trying my luck with finding them at Best Buy on street date. They seem to be carrying Shout titles more frequently now. Expecting packages to arrive on time (or at all) via USPS is like playing Russian Roulette, except there are bullets in almost every chamber.

I wish Scream could release Wolf (1994). Good movie and the ending with Michelle Pfeiffer, her eyes and the music is gorgeous.

Indicator released a terrific region free edition with extras already that's readily available if you want a special edition of the film.

Usually I would say tomorrow, but since we just got August titles, maybe in a few weeks?

Paramount acquisition of the Weinstein film catalog has got me wondering about foreign horror films that never even got releases in North America on any format because the Weinstein wanted to remake it (e.g. Livid). Do you think Paramount will release them on Blu or offer them to SF? What films from the Weinstein catalog would you all like to see SF release! I know a Scream Set is high on people list...

If I saw a list of what they own (or owned) I'd be able to tell you but I always get Weinstein and Miramax stuff confused. If Dimension Films (via Miramax) is among the titles then I'd love Children of the Corn and Hellraiser sequel collections.

Scream would be good, especially if they could get a new transfer of 2. I would like to see The Prophecy series, really just the trilogy with Walken, remastered. There's many I'd like to see. I also would want some on 4K, but Paramount licensing UHD titles is unprecedented as of right now and I believe Scream Factory is pretty dry on titles from the first Paramount deal. I hope I'm wrong and I hope there's a chance for some of the Dimension/Miramax stuff to get releases from Scream Factory/Shout Factory (I would love a Shout Select of Amelié or Chasing Amy).

Wasn't it Miramax's catalog that Paramount acquired? Unless it got sold again, the TWC catalog ended up with Lantern Entertainment.

It is the Miramax catalog, but I assume that is what was meant by Weinstein's movies. Most of the horror stuff they attached themselves to came out from Miramax and/or Dimension. Plus the mention of the Scream franchise implies Miramax.

But the Weinstein Company films are owned by Lantern Entertainment, are they not (with Lionsgate handling distribution)?

I suppose Scream, Children of The Corn, and Hellraiser box sets are possible, provided something can be worked with Weinstein/Lantern/Lionsgate and RLJ/Arrow.

Some other good Miramax suggestions:

-Halloween 6-8 (maybe NEW CE editions with remasters and new additional extras/versions)
-The Thief and The Cobbler (need grand treatment and I mean GRAND)
-Tales From The Crypt Presents Ritual
-Clerks
-Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
-Mother of Tears

Man, I would love to see Scream CE or a Scream box set from Scream Factory. Scream needs a new 2K/4K scan... I would be in love.

If Scream Factory could release Halloween 6-8 on UHD, in addition to 2 and 3 which I assume they will be doing UHDs for, that would just take a deal with Lionsgate to release the first 8 in a UHD box set.
