I will because I’m not a little kid collecting paper route money for a living. Am I supposed to be impressed by $100? I don’t buy or collect movies to resell and people getting their panties in a bunch about slip covers need to get over it.

People are allowed to like and collect slip covers. People are also allowed not to like slip covers. However I think it’s a fair criticism that throwing the slipcover out is a waste as you could easily make money on it to buy more films.

State seems to be trending warmer longer, not much of a Fall or Winter anymore.

I live in southeast PA and we seem to be losing Fall, which sucks. Temps used to start cooling down mid September, but the last few years it’s been mid-late October. It makes it hard to get into the Halloween spirit when the leaves haven’t turned yet due to the highs being in the 70s or 80s most of the month.

Sure is a lot of judgement going on over how other people utilize the things they spend their own money on. If people want to get rid of slipcases they don't like by binning them rather than going through the hassle of selling them, that's their prerogative. Not everyone looks at every aspect of life in terms of dollars and cents.

I had a friend who would dumpster dive and find things. One day he found a bunch of movies. He gave me a Garfield the Movie DVD with the original slipcover. I don't recall when that came out, but it could be considered somewhat vintage by now. I wonder how many thousands of dollars it must be worth today?

I believe it was Don May Jr. who posted about it, back when the original box set was put together. He knew the guy and had seen some of the footage. He wrote that the guy was basically asked to lend the footage out for free.

'Melodrama' has a stigma of being 'women's film' and is now often associated with Douglas Sirk and his sort.

But back in the day, melodrama was actually considered to be aimed at the male audience and was an umbrella term for all kinds of action and crime films.

edit - Actually, Sleepaway 2 and 3 must be OOP all together, cause they're hundreds on Amazon and who knows if they even have a slip. Sleepaway Camp 1 is $10 though.

Both are OOP.

I was going to sell mine since I have the 88 Films releases, but I only have the discs and not the artwork. Not sure if I’d even get anything for them.

At some point all Scream Factory releases will be out of print and whoever has been buying each release with slipcover will probably net $500,000+ for the entire collection.

The "Summer of Fear" sales had been in June in pervious years, but last year it was July. Maybe they realized the sales from VS and Severin take lots of money from us, and our wallets need a month to recover?

We're almost at the halfway point of July, so if they're going to have a sale, it should start soon.

I actually like it when people get rid of their slips because it makes the remaining ones more rare & valuable.

Also, people who scoff at slip collectors buying cardboard must really lose their minds when they see what trading cards sell for.
