I’m guessing when SF releases these, they will be BD first, then 4K a few years later. I can’t see them passing on a double dip.

DotD is generally the most reliable disc news poster on social media, but he also gets most of his info from here. There are others (*ahem* GG) who fabricate wayyyy more often!

If the opportunity is there, I don't see why not going straight to 4K. Afterall, SF did say that they tried to get the rights for the F13 movies for 4K but Paramount didn't want to give it to them.

Or they could just release a 4K version and a Blu-Ray version simultaneously?

They tried to get the UHD rights for the Friday set but Paramount wouldn't license them out. The films they're releasing on UHD nowadays were ones they put out on Blu-Ray by them before the format was a thing, but Shout also did put out a 4K of Deer Hunter without putting it out in a standard Blu-Ray originally.

Even though this leak is very likely fake, if Scream Factory we're to do a Nightmare on Elm Street, would you rather have the first 5 films in 4K or a Blu-ray boxset of all 9 films?

At first glance I really liked those covers, now I'm not so sure. As Blu Ray/4k Cover art I'm not sure they work... as posters/prints on a wall they'd look amazing. The designs overall seem off for a Blu Ray case attempting to sell a movie. The positioning of the logo would leave me to believe that these would be a part of a larger boxset housed inside a slip box. (The logo doesn't need to be as prominent inside a slip box). However the "collectors edition" branding would lead a person to believe that if they were real they'd be sold individually, as "Collectors Editions" aren't sold as part of box sets. (Feature rich discs/releases of course exist in Screams Box sets, but they aren't labeled Collectors Editions when packed with other films). It also seems strange that we'd see a "leak" of parts 1,2,4,5 but no sign of part 3.

Fake as they may be, I welcome this kind of excitement on a Monday morning and hope that before long we'll have some real reveals for the Nightmare franchise.

That’s the other thing. If this were real, it would be a set of all of the movies, since they’re all with the same studio.

For sure. There's 0 chance Warner would be like... "Sure, we'll license you Nightmare 1,2,4, & 5 but there's no way you're getting your hands on Freddy's Dead, New Nightmare, or the Reboot. "

Got to have the full set.

Not to mention I enjoy Wes Craven's New Nightmare a lot.

Also...I'm going to say it. The remake wasn't THAT bad. It was worse than the Friday the 13th one sure, but it wasn't terrible. Had some cool visuals as well.

Reading the comments, someone reached out to Cliff and he confirmed that they are not working on a NOES set at this time. With that post alone, they should delete that post on Dawn. The only reason to keep it up is to get people excited for no reason at all...
