There's a post on reddit saying that their H5 case was missing the 4K disc. Severin had this issue with Blood for Dracula. It was very rare though I think...

Looks like Shout will be using Halloween 4K slipbox style cases for Collector's Editions going forward judging by an unboxing video I watched for Elvira's Haunted Hills. That's great because I love those boxes already. They're like miniature versions of Arrow's chipboard cases.

I don't think that's the case - the site art for Krampus and Vampire Lovers suggests they will have a conventional slipcover like the regular CEs (and the initial announcements for both only mention a slipcover).

I get why they gave the Halloween films the chipboard treatment, but Elvira seems a curious choice. Maybe it worked out the same to have six of them done at once, so they thought 'why not?'.

Perhaps. But Elvira having the chipboard case is precisely why I think Shout may use that style case in the future. Maybe not for all CE's but more like a random selection. Time will tell.

Shout! did say they would have new packaging going forward in 2022, so maybe the new hard cases are what they have in mind...

The mention of packaging was specifically in relation to site exclusives though, so may refer to things like steelbooks or figures.

Missed the part about the site exclusives... really hoping it isn't steelbooks or figures, but you are probably right since they love that stuff.

Hopefully they mean using boxes instead of large mailers. Almost all my site exclusives have arrived in smashed cases.

They did a chipboard box for Creepshow so it would look similar to Arrow's release of Creepshow 2. They may have done this with Elvira's Haunted Hills to match the thicker-style packaging for Arrow's release of Elvira Mistress of the Dark. I'm sure it was all in relation to the Halloween 4Ks being in the same batch too.

Shout's too cost-cutting to switch to this style packaging for everything. Heck, my 4K's for Halloween III and 4 used echo cases even though 1, 2, and 5 don't.

I’m more focused on those banners on the top of the cover art. I was kind of hoping those would be for the online art but omitted from the cover itself.!

This exactly. I say this fairly often, but this is what really sets Vinegar Syndrome slips apart from almost all others.

Yes, VS slips are a little thicker and feel a little higher quality, but the reason I collect them and don't really collect any other companies slips is because the VS slips are corner-to-corner art on both sides. No unnecessary logos or legal jargon or specs or banners cluttering it up. It's just artwork.

I understand Scream Factory has to have that stuff because in-store sales are a bigger thing for them than for VS, and that stuff is needed for someone picking it up off a store shelf to look at it. But they could stick a j-card on there like it's already commonly used for steelbooks if they really cared.

Or a sticker on the cellophane.

I feel like they went backwards a little because they cut the blue banner on their slipcovers back in the day and they were so much better off for it. I'm not sure why they took a step backwards there.

I know I'm definitely in the minority here, but I like the blue banners atop the older Scream slips, and I like the movie info on the back of slips, like a movie poster with the credits at the bottom. I guess I just come to expect it now.

But conversely I do love the VS slips with their pure art, they are really spectacular. I guess I'm just a fan of slips, and I really do not know why... OCD perhaps? But in this case, re: the 4K Halloween chipboards would've benefited from no banner in this case for sure.

So, Millennium/R.O.T.O.R. I can't find anything on this release (probably due to the title being R.O.T.O.R. and the punctuation confusing the search engine). Apparently this is now OOP? I see it's going for WAY, WAY more than it's worth on amazon/ebay, and Shout's site says as much. Does anyone know if it was cause of the double feature movie, Millennium, and that thus there's a chance we'll see this re-released? I really want to see the movie, but not enough to pay 75 bucks for a used copy! It doesn't appear there are any foreign releases, either.

I did the movie info on the back myself. Sometimes when I’m combing through VS discs, it’s a little annoying to take them out to read about what the movie is. The banners are more just aesthetically unfortunate since it almost gets in the way of the art.
